Broken Arrow Sergeant Bandy and his team have partnered with CREOKS mental health professionals to provide crisis support in the Broken Arrow district.
What changes have you seen in how the Broken Arrow Police Department handles mental health-related calls over time?
“In the past, officers had limited options beyond detention or arrest. Now, we’re more focused on diversion, de-escalation, and working alongside mental health professionals. Training has improved, awareness has increased, and there’s broader community support for handling these situations. We’re still learning and building, but the direction is clearly toward better outcomes for everyone involved.” — Sergeant Bandy
