Fifty-five never looked so good! πŸŽ‰πŸ΅ Today we're celebrating Susie, the eldest female in our chimpanzee troop! Her keepers marked the occasion with a special enrichment setup for the whole troop, featuring cardboard boxes filled with an assortment of produce, fruit-filled ice blocks and a "55"-shaped cake made from primate biscuits.

Join us in celebrating Susie and this remarkable milestone! ❀️

It's National Pollinator Week! 🌼🐝 Pollinators like bees, butterflies, moths, beetles and other insects play an important role in healthy ecosystems, and there are simple ways you can support them right at home:

🌱 Plant native flowers that provide nectar and pollen throughout the growing season
🚫 Reduce or avoid pesticide use whenever possible
🏨 Create habitats by leaving natural areas or installing a bug hotel

Our horticulture team carefully plans and maintains pollinator-friendly gardens throughout Tulsa Zoo, selecting plants that help support native species. You may even spot one of our bug hotels around grounds, providing shelter for a variety of beneficial insects.

Want to learn more about creating pollinator habitat in your own backyard? Visit our friends at Okies for Monarchs for resources, planting guides and ways to get involved. πŸ¦‹
