A thriving neighborhood is one where residents feel like they truly belong, where families feel safe, neighbors feel seen and heard, and people have a real voice in what happens next.
Growth should never come at the expense of the families who already call a community home.
We at Growing Together are working towards progress that creates more opportunity, stability, and belonging for the people who have helped make Kendall-Whittier what it is.

A thriving community is built by people who are willing to show up.
A huge thank you to Blue Neighbors for investing their time and energy into Kendall-Whittier Elementary by moving furniture, refreshing the garden, and painting hallway signs.
We also want to express our greatest gratitude to Kendall Whittier Church for creating a joyful time of family fun at Kendall-Whittier Park filled with games, food, music, cotton candy, and connection.
Together, we grow.

Growth should create more opportunity for the people who already call a neighborhood home and not make it harder for them to stay.
At Growing Together, we believe a thriving Kendall-Whittier means families can remain rooted and grow, residents have a voice in what comes next, and the culture and relationships that make this community special are protected along the way.
Growth must happen with the community, shaped by the community, and designed to benefit the whole community.

đź“° Growing Together is in the news with our partners at Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma
Kendall-Whittier parents asked for an opportunity to earn their high school equivalency diploma in Spanish and our community listened.
Through a new partnership between Growing Together and Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma, adults are now able to attend free, Spanish-language HiSET preparation classes right at Kendall-Whittier Elementary School.
And the response has been incredible. The class filled after launching in August, with a waitlist already forming for the spring.
Thank you to Tulsa World for highlighting this work, and to Catholic Charities of Eastern Oklahoma, Kendall-Whittier Elementary School, our staff, and every adult learner taking this courageous next step.

A fresh start can begin with something as simple as a basket of essentials. Help us support She Brews Coffee Roasters and the women they serve as they transition into a new season of healing and opportunity.

As Coordinator Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to say one more very important thing: thank you.
Thank you to our Communities In Schools Coordinators who show up every day to listen, encourage, advocate, connect families to resources, celebrate wins, and remind students that they do not have to navigate life alone.
The impact of your presence cannot always be measured in a single moment but it can be felt in every student who knows someone sees them, believes in them, and is in their corner.
Because you are present, students know they matter. We appreciate you today and every day. đź’š
“I am present for my students because…” For Jeremy Lee, a Communities In Schools Coordinator at Will Rogers High School, this work is personal.
His “why” is rooted in making sure students know that no matter what they are facing, they still deserve support, encouragement, and the chance to succeed.
Thank you, Jeremy, for being present for students.

Back-to-School Night at Eugene Field Elementary was full of connection, excitement, and community.
Families had the opportunity to meet the principal, teachers, school staff, and Growing Together’s Communities In Schools Coordinator, Anna Chincon, as everyone prepared for a strong school year ahead.
From arts and crafts to basketball, reading, and time spent engaging together, the evening gave students and families a chance to feel welcomed, supported, and connected to their school community.
We are grateful for the Eugene Field Elementary team and the way they continue creating a school environment where students and families feel seen, encouraged, and ready to thrive.
Here’s to a great year at Eugene Field Elementary!
