Spreading awareness to find missing children.

If I haven’t met you yet, please allow me a moment to introduce myself. My name is Anna Cannard. I am 34 years old. I have lived in the beautiful state of New Hampshire for almost 9 years now. I have a bachelor’s degree in social work. I currently work in special education in a local school. In my free time I love traveling, hiking, volunteering, and most recently I’ve picked up the hobby of gardening and teaching myself to play piano. I’m really living the life of my dreams.
But there is one fact about me that most wouldn’t have guessed if I didn’t tell them.

I am a trauma survivor. Throughout my childhood I experienced every kind of trauma imaginable.

For years I worked helping struggling families who were at risk of having their children removed due to abuse and neglect. One of my biggest takeaways from this experience was that unresolved childhood trauma is what leads parents to the behavior and poor decisions that cause their children’s trauma. Trauma is a vicious cycle that is passed down from generation to generation until we adults make the decision to accomplish the extremely difficult task of facing and healing our own trauma.
I recently wrote a book telling my story of my traumatic experiences, my journey towards recovery, and what I learned about the effects of trauma along the way. I hope my story may serve as a sort of road map for others who are trying to recover too.

If you or someone you know has survived trauma but are still learning to heal, please consider getting a copy of my book “The Many Sides of Me” available on Amazon now.

From a childhood marked by profound physical and emotional abuse, neglect, a terrifying near-drowning, and the chaos of her father's mental illness, Anna lived with a secret inner world to cope. Battling feelings of being unloved and unwanted, she developed "multiple realities" to survive a difficult existence, a struggle later identified as Dissociative Identity Disorder. This deeply personal account reveals the fierce war waged within as she navigated a world she perceived through the lens of trauma.

But Anna's story is a testament to resilience and the journey towards healing. Follow her inspiring path as she channels her pain into purpose: embarking on missionary trips to serve those in need, pursuing a career as a social worker dedicated to protecting vulnerable children and supporting struggling families, and launching impactful missing persons awareness campaigns that gave a voice to the voiceless and brought closure to desperate families. Experience her courageous journey through therapy, confronting the truth of her past, and ultimately finding wholeness, self-acceptance, and love.

"The Many Sides of Me" is a raw, honest exploration of surviving profound hardship, understanding the lasting impact of trauma, and building a life dedicated to illuminating the path for others seeking truth and healing.
