Bird and Bottle - After hearing some positive feedback on this place I thought we would give it a try since we were in the neighborhood. As we walked in there was an active buzz and the bar was busy. I later learned that they have $4 martinis everyday and a very small happy hour menu which made sense why the bar was busy. Chelsey was our server and she was very good.
The place got busy as we were there. Honestly looking at the menu I had a hard time choosing something that peaked my interest.
We started off with the soft buns which was like a Vietnamese bun with meat. The "soft buns" were anything but soft and the filling was flavorless. These buns are typically very soft and steamed but have no flavor so you really have to have a flavorful filling which it did not. We did tell Chelsey that the buns were not good. My wife had the beet and goat cheese salad and could not finish it due to the amount of goat cheese making it way too heavy and rich. I had the peach and prosciutto flatbread and ate about 1/4 of it. It was boring, and dry and was missing something even though I couldn't put my finger on it.
Once again with a couple of cocktails, an order of soft buns, some glazed carrots, a salad, and a flat bread it was over $100. Even though we commented on the buns and didn't eat a lot of it, it was still on the bill. We don't plan on returning.

Forno Santo - so my wife and I went here for dinner the other night due to all the buzz. Before going into details and sharing pictures we will not be back. We basically spent $120 on 2 bowls of pasta, 3 drinks, and one appetizer. They don't even give you bread and butter, you have to pay for that as well. The menu is limited in my opinion and the only steak on the menu was $135. The ham and melon salad, my clam pasta and the bread we paid for was good. The carbonara pasta was very heavy on pepper and soaked in sauce, and the pasta was gummy. It was on the verge of being Carbonara soup.

George’s Pub in Jenks, Ok. Today we stopped in for an unexpected lunch. I know a lot of people who have been here and said it’s a friendly place with good pub food. Well I have to agree. Stacy was running the floor and the bar, she was super sweet and always had a big smile.
The picture does not do the quesadilla justice, it was hearty and full of flavor. The burger was great as well.
The pub has a friendly vibe with daily happy hour specials, appetizer specials and drink deals. There is an upstairs area with a pool table and a small outside patio that is pet friendly.
We had a great time.

The Bradford Grill was so good that we had to go back for the second time in 8 days. They are doing so well. We were there on opening day and they had a decent flow for mid-afternoon but I have been seeing lots of photos, great comments and today when we left there was a wait to get in. We had another great dinner with friendly and great service. They were so busy that the parking lot was full and people were parking at NY Bagel and Charleston's next door.

Yesterday we went to the new Bradford Grill on Yale. It was the official first day of business. The service was very good and so is the food. For those of you who are fans of Fish Daddy's the same owner has opened this restaurant. The menu prices are very fare and about half the cost of Charleston's next door. If you are tequila or bourbon lovers you will be very happy with the selection. You definitely need to go. Tell the managers Gary and Sam, and trainer Hunter that Chef Steve sent you. They are all great people.

Texas de Brazil - Well today we went for lunch and it was not good. Let’s start off with the pros. The pitcher of Brazilian lemonade was good, as well as the lobster bisque, salad bar and carrot cake. That was it. Now for the cons. The soup area was dirty and stayed dirty for the large duration of our stay with spilled soup on the counter. In the past they always served the mashed potatoes and plantain when the hot food was served. Well today it was served as we went up to the salad bar. So needless to say by the time we finished the soup and salad and had the meat course it was all cold. After we finished our salads we turned our red sign to green and we sat there for a while with dirty soup and salad plates in front of us as 4-5 employees just stood close by chatting (see photo). After a long wait finally someone came by with the meat. He asked me if I would like any and I said sure but I don’t have a plate to put it on, so he left. In the past once you flip your card over they remove your dirty salad plate and bring you a fresh one for the meat. A second person finally came by with meat and I said can I have a plate to put the meat on. Most of the beef today with the exception of the Picanha was very tough and chewy and inedible. Very disappointing for our Valentines Day meal and my wife’s birthday treat.

Hop the Griffin - we went here for the very first time yesterday. I discovered that this was the original location of The French Hen now located downtown. Another great restaurant. You should try it.
We went to Hop the Griffin at 3pm in order to take advantage of their Happy Hour. Due to the time of day it was very quiet. We sat at a nice window table overlooking their patio. Molly was working the bar and helped us as well. The bar is cute with dart boards, board games, a pool table and shuffleboard table as well, and some rock and roll music.
The food was good and reasonable. We started with a large pretzel and cheese curds and had the fish and chips and a Philly Cheeseateak sandwich.

I would avoid The Bros. Houligan restaurant. I just had a conversation with someone from their management team regarding some derogatory comments made by one of their employees which could alienate a large portion of their business and got a very rude and unprofessional reply after bringing this to their attention privately. After me taking the highroad and adressing this privately instead of going onto FB first he could have politely said, “I understand, we surely dont want to offend 50% of our business”. I know that is the way most good businesses would operate. However, I got an equally arogant and obnoxious reply that our founding father’s gave us freedom of speech. So be it. Well here is my freedom of speech.
There are way too many good restaurants in town to support than a place like this that willingly disrespects their customers.
