Hi! I’m Laura 👋🏻

Our little community has grown recently, so I wanted to take a moment to reintroduce myself! Here’s a little bit about me:

•I’m originally from Texas, but I’ve lived in Oklahoma over half my life at this point so I claim it as home 👌🏻

•My husband and I have been married almost 8 years (!!!) and we are living our best D***s life with our two cats, Oliver and Ezlyn 🥰

•My feed is ALL OVER THE PLACE. It’s full of our travels, me playing dress up, honest product reviews, occasional dancing, and educational videos about medications. But we have fun, okay? 🤪

•I work full-time as a clinical pharmacist, and I am super passionate about teaching my audience more about the drugs in their medicine cabinet in a way that is approachable, fun, and easy to understand (no medical advice, educational purposes only!) 💊

If you’re new around here, HI! I’m Laura, a board-certified pharmacist (PharmD, BCPS), and I LOVE teaching you more about the drugs in your medicine cabinet. I’ve been practicing for a little over 6 years now.

When I tell people that I’m a pharmacist, I know they have an image that pops into their head of someone in a white coat, head down, furiously counting pills behind a counter. But honestly, I couldn’t tell you the last time I whipped out a counting tray...

My official job title is Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner, and I work for the Department of Veterans Affairs serving our nation’s Military Veterans. It is 100% the coolest, most fulfilling job, and I love it.

Every day looks different, but I spend the majority of my day seeing patients one-on-one to help them manage chronic diseases like diabetes, hypertension, COPD, heart failure, and lots more! I even help out with to***co cessation, weight management, and some good old-fashioned medication reviews. We work together to customize their medications to make sure they are as safe and effective as possible.

Every day, I get to use my noggin. I get to solve problems. I get to learn new things. I get to connect deeply with people. And most importantly, I get to help people feel better.

Watching my patients reach their goals and gain a sense of empowerment when it comes to their health is a feeling I wish could bottle up and keep forever. HEY, DID I MENTION I LOVE MY JOB?
