I AM SHUTTING THIS PLACE DOWN

NO MORE BAT RESCUE

NO MORE BAT BARN

NO MORE BOOK

NO MORE RESEARCH

I Q U I T NO MORE I HAVE HAD IT

IF I GET ON HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW I'LL FIGURE SOME WAY TO BURN IT.

you think he's upset about something?. Last year right now infact i said i need ed a bat barn. i put up a go fund me account i found out my non profit i've been working for 3 months to get active still wasn't and it would be 2 more month to find out i wasn't on the IRS list that all non profits use to get their donations grants and all the othe rmoneys out there another month to find out why 1023. so I set up a go fund me anyway because i was looking at months for this to get finished. people make money all the time millions of dollars just walking your living room. surely i could get 1 dollar from the 6000 people the cover all the internet places i go to. one year later 1 year late look at all that money NOT ONE DIME. I ONLY ASKED FOR ONE DOLLAR NOT 10 20 50 OR 100 THAT WOULD BE NICE ONLY 1 DOLLAR NOT ONE PERSON OUT THERE THAT SAYS THEY CARE FOR BAT SENT IN ANYTHING. OK IF THAT HOW ALL OF YOU FEEL ABOUT BATS THEN

I QUIT

WHY SHOULD I CONTINUE WHY SHOULD I CARE. i PUT THE BARN ON MY CREDIT CARDS TO SAVE IT. IT'S IN STORAGE WITH THE CONTRACTORS WHO ALSO OWE ME $8000 A SLAB AND BUILDING PERMITS OS THEY HAVEN'T COMPLAINED YET. $10,000 TO RAISE IT PROBABLY 30,000 TO COMPLETE BUT I ONLY NEED IT RAISED. TO MAKE USE OF IT.

SO TOMORROW ON MY BIRTHDAY I EITHER HAVE A BARN RAISING OR I FILE BANKRUPCY AND SAY SCREW ALL THE PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT MADE THIS POSSIBLE.NO REASON AT 68 I SHOULD LIVE IN POVERTY AND GO BROKE TRYING TO SAVE BATS.

I have a freezer full of dead bats maybe ill just mail them to everyone that make this possible like the godfather and his horse head. mail me a buck or get a bat. I;ve had it. I'm going to post this on every place i have on this internet just to make sure i don't leave anyone out., IT'S NOW 6 HOURS AND 20 MINUTES TO THE 23TH TIME IS COUNTING https://www.gofundme.com/f/bat-barn

The big news is I'm pushing for funds. I just put a down payment on a 50'x15' steel building BAT BARN east side 15x15 rescue lab house the bats and a door going to the flight 30' flight cage height maybe 10' width not sure probably to cover the window for a winter roost so when they are strong the flight can be open and they can leave. bottom 35' will be a workshop with all the saws welder compressor sandblaster and other tools for bat houses and other projects. west side upstairs 15x15' will be a classroom I'm contacting all the school system to see how I can work with them maybe getting certified as a substitute. hopefully we will have some schools here on field trips since rehab animals can't leave the grounds new laws in Oklahoma messing with the rehabbers and their education programs. I'll have an iron arm stars to the door and entrance on the side of the house ring doorbell to I can open it no matter where I am. I'll be setting up an overhead projection for movies and slides seating for I think 24 may be able to squeeze in a few extras. the other 35 feet will be used for storage to clean out garage and house so I and my 3 roommates have some room. widen the driveway for 3 cars or 2 cars and school bus during school sessions. I'm the only rehabber that specializes in bats the couple of centers prefer not to do them pup season does take dedicated people working 2-3 hours feeding the pups around the clock most don't want that responsibility. so desperate times desperate measures. the building will be here in 2 months I'm getting quotes on putting it together. I'm working on building permits and inspectors hoping I can find a good construction company or contractor do put it together insulation walls plumbing lab sink elect for microwave refrig computer etc. classroom so we need sever outlets and lots of lights A/C & Heat so I can use this place ear round. This place will be 100% for bats because most of the storage is for them too. I have 100's of books I've put together with 100 of bookcases and boxes that will help the house substantially. So I'm working on a go fund me account I need everyone everywhere to help out with whatever they can 10-20 bucks is great if you can give more God bless you. This will help with 6 books I'm working on it was one bat at 500 pages I had to cut the chapters down to books and I'm doing several areas of research Farmers Pest control volumes amount of bats they use species they have etc etc etc. I have 1000 question which I need to find answers for and 1/2 of this book is for rehabbers setting up graphs the graphs I have created and many others. Bat house research lab with a dozen bat houses different kinds with hopes of different species and testing to what will attract them. and I'llright a book about that too. I'm currently buiilding 3,5,7,9.12 chamber 12x12" hold 750 to 2500 bats depending on species. I can build them any size but the weight is about 70 lbs at 12 chamber using recycled privacy fence 100 of the fence the front and back have to be new because I need it for the structure for 100 mph winds we get here. they should last 30 years with a proper roof and 3 heavy layers of paint. inside it's natural I can;t improve on mother nature it's all dagoed and glued and sealed tight. I use slotted glued 2x4" on the sides so they can be as big as a person wants. add another 2x4 for another 2 or 3 chambers and just add more pickets to make the chambers. so it's almost totally recycled. but right now WE HAVE A BARN RAISING HELP RAISE THE FEWERR BAT BARN. WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD i'LL POST THE GO FUND ME TOMORROW OR THE NEXT DAY i'LL WORK ON IT TONIGHT PLEASE SUPPORT THE BATS. PS BLAKE SHELTON HAS STARTED A NON PROFIT TO PROMOTE CONSERVATION IN OKLAHOMA JUST HOPE i CAN GET A HOLD OF HIM MAYBE HE COULD GIVE A SHOUT OUT TO HIS CROWD. I'M ESTIMATED $40,000 TO FINISH THE BUILDING. i CAME RIGHT ON AT 8-$10,000 FOR THE SLAB BUILDING IS 17,000 WHICH $5000 ON THE CREDIT CARD GOT 2 MONTHS TO GET THE REST i STILL NEED TO PUT IN PLUMBING BEFORE IT GET HERE WITH THE INSULATION. SO I THINK THAT WILL BE PRETTY COSE. MAYBE A LITTLE MORE HOPEFULLY FUNDS WILL KEEP COMING IN AFTER WE REACH THE 40 TO COMPLETE THE BUILDING. I'M PRAYING TO GOD AND ST FRANCIS WE MAKE IT IN TIME. TALK TO YOUR FRIENDS AND WAIT FOR MY NEXT NOTICE WITH THE GOFUNDME SITE. THANKS

Anyone with bats coming into your place it's best to wait tell the fall to do an exclusion it's almost too late now to do them. May 8 we had the first pup show up last year. This year was colder than last year so would guess we might have an additional week for the first pup. There are several companies that exclusions Oklahoma Wildlife Control can do them 918-367-9060 get it done before the pups come out. Big Browns will be the first with a gestation period of 60 days Red Bats are 80-85. The bats could have impregnated themselves as early as March 22 looking at the temps on the graph. 2 months later they will have pups. If you do an exclusion with pups they will get trapped and you will have one smelly place when the pups die. Believe me, one dead pup can smell up a whole house.

Just upgraded by ecology/adult feeding charts. these greatly help to determine when pup season should start for each species if you make them for your area for a couple years. I have a pdf that shows that if anyone interested I'll post it. these are for Big Browns and Eastern Reds my main 2 bats I figure the temps are pretty solid with the forecast and last years looks like it's springtime here starting yesterday 3-22 and figuring the gestation period assuming the bats are about now and they released their s***m it gives a pretty accurate timeline. Between March 14-22 low temps are steady above 45 so pregnancy should occur maybe. 60 days for Big Browns put it about May 21 first big brown last year was May 8 but we had warmer winter and Red bats is 80 - 85 days of gestation or dob around June 10 last year 1st was June 14 pretty close. Of course, we will use growth charts with pups I'll be updating those next with this year temperatures as well stay tooned.

I usually have about 10 bats to overwinter this year is slow only 2 and I've got 9000 worms to feed them guess I'll be making a lot of blend for the coming pup season. Australia bats are literally falling of the trees from the heat here we are going to have record colds some places -50 even bats will have a problem with that extreme. hopefully, it's only for a few days.

going to release most of my bats in the next day or two depending on weather figured I'd post this summary so I'd have ithttp://fewerr.org/PDF/2017_Active_Bat_Summary.pdf

seems like very few bat rehabbers use growth charts here are the reasons I use them there aren't any little brown bat growth charts I have found the closest was a cave myotis and using the documented measurements from little browns I extrapolated this one looks like it's pretty accurate. in 12 years I have had about 17 adult little browns this is only the second pup I have received and can work to create/verify my curve.

Crap had to show up sometime it hit Texas this year and has been in Missouri and Arkansas I just hope it stays up north although I've had tri-colored bats in rehab just don't need any with WNS.

just thought I'd pass this on to all the bat people on here. just updated by ecology chart it's also a feeding chart for adult bats. I'm estimating since insects have been seen at the beginning of February and we didn't have any really cold weather this year and extrapolating from last year's temps that pup season will probably be moved up 2 weeks from last year as seen on the chart. Of course, this is only for Tulsa area but you can make your own by plotting your temperatures for the last year from NOAA website. http://w2.weather.gov/climate/index.php?wfo=tsa you can get your temperature here just pull up your city. I have one of these for each species since feeding and weights will be different for each one. Castillo woke up early burned off his stored weight if he had any starting out. and nearly starved at 9.8 grams he's now 3 grams heavier and doing fine. When his weight levels off and he's able to fly good I'll release her so she can find that roost to have her pup/s.

Under his wing: 'Radar' nurtures bats at his Tulsa home, sets them free 02/19/2017

wow Mr Trammel did a really good article on bats. there were a few things I should have said like bats have been held in captivity up to 30 years. but it's actually better this way sometime we let the public know too much and then they want a pet bat. and no you can't have a pet bat get licensed and become a wildlife rehabber they need you. there are very few of us out there.to save these guys. We have 3 mosquito born viruses now (in case you forgot bats eat mosquitoes)
Westnile at it's peak killed 9,000 a few years ago, a couple years ago we were introduce to chikungunya., and now a new one that's a really nasty one in that it causes brain deformities in infants the Zika virus. and a 1 ounce bat eats 5 lbs of insects a year that translates to about 1.5 million mosquito sizes insects a year. It takes around 400 bats to protect a house so when you walk out and don't get torn up by mosquitoes. My smallest bat house is a 3 chamber holds about 700 bats my largest a 12 chamber (a neiborhood bat house) holds around 2640 bats and that times 1.5 million is a very big number. Even though bats always return to their roost, Bats can fly around 2 miles on average hunting for food so a large bat hosue your protecting a good size neighborhood as well. Chinese consider bats good luck, I say if you kiss a bat you get good luck all day. So become a rehabber and you can get good luck every day. https://goo.gl/cqe51G
