Did you know cardiovascular disease (CVD) remains the leading cause of death globally—claiming more lives than cancer and respiratory diseases combined? Yet, up to 80% of premature CVD deaths are preventable through simple, everyday steps.
How your insurance can help keep you heart-healthy:
- Annual check-ups often include screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, and other key risk indicators.
- Coverage for nutrition counseling, smoking cessation programs, and fitness support can be critical in preventing CVD.
- Access to treatment, follow-ups, and specialist care ensures timely intervention if risks rise.
Let's move beyond awareness—let's act. Sign up for that check-in, explore your health benefits, and champion heart-healthy living for yourself and those you love. Because every beat matters.

Prostate cancer is the 2nd most common cancer among American men—about 1 in 8 will be diagnosed in their lifetime.
Why early detection matters:
When caught early, prostate cancer is highly treatable. That’s why regular screenings—like PSA blood tests—are an important conversation to have with your doctor, especially if you’re at higher risk.
Your insurance can help you take action:
- Annual check-ups often cover preventive screenings at no cost.
- Specialist visits may be covered for those with elevated risk or symptoms.
- Genetic testing & counseling could be included if you have a family history.
This month, take the time to learn your benefits, schedule your screenings, and encourage the men in your life to do the same. Awareness is powerful—but action saves lives.

Ovarian cancer is often called the “silent killer”—because it typically shows no early symptoms and is frequently diagnosed at a late stage.
Here’s what you need to know—and how your insurance plays a leading role in protection:
Early detection saves lives: When caught early (local stage), the 5‑year survival rate is over 90%. Yet, only about 20% of cases are found that early.
Use your insurance proactively: Schedule regular gynecological visits and ask about pelvic exams or risk assessments. Understand your coverage for genetic counseling if you have a family history or BRCA mutations.
Know the gaps: Screening for average-risk individuals isn’t recommended, so reporting persistent symptoms (like bloating or pelvic discomfort) early is vital.
Tap into resources: Many insurers cover diagnostic tests, specialist referrals, second opinions, clinical trials, and treatment navigation support.
Insurance isn’t just for emergencies—it’s your tool for timely action, early detection, and empowered care. Let’s turn awareness into protection!

While no one ever wants to imagine their child facing cancer, knowledge and preparation can make all the difference. Your health insurance isn’t just there for emergencies; it’s a powerful tool for prevention, early detection, and access to treatment.
Small steps now may lead to big differences later:
- Schedule regular wellness visits and screenings covered by your plan.
- Know your network. Find pediatric specialists and cancer centers in advance.
- Understand your benefits for diagnostics, second opinions, and cutting-edge treatments.
Protecting your dependents means being proactive. The earlier we act, the better the outcomes.

Thanks to the Affordable Care Act (ACA), most health plans are required to cover preventive care WITHOUT cost-sharing requirements such as copays and deductibles. In other words, services such as health and cancer screenings as well as vaccinations, can be FREE to you!
Be sure to check your plan details to confirm, and stay within your plan's network to ensure these services are fully covered.

Today is National Financial Awareness Day.
Financial awareness plays a huge role in how we access and experience care. Did you know most employees don’t know what an MRI costs until after they get one? For many people, navigating the financial side of healthcare is confusing and overwhelming. Let’s change that.
This day is a call to recognize that:
- Clear information is empowering.
- Confidence comes from understanding.
- And health decisions shouldn’t be made based on financial confusion.
Let’s keep working toward a future where everyone feels equipped to make smart, informed choices about their health and their money.

Generic medications are just as effective as their brand-name counterparts— but they often cost 80–85% less.
Pro tip: Next time you’re at the pharmacy, ask,
“Is there a generic version of this medication?”
Pharmacists are legally allowed to substitute with generics in most cases and it could make a big difference for your wallet.

This summer, remember to look for sunscreen with an SPF of 30 (which blocks 97% of UVB rays) or higher.
Skin Cancer (especially melanoma) is one of the most expensive cancers to treat, ranging on average from $8,000 to over $150,000. Regular use of sunscreen reduces the chance of skin cancer significantly AND can save you thousands of dollars in out-of-pocket costs in the long run.
