LinkedIn is getting better at connecting what you post with who you are professionally.

And your profile is part of that picture.

The post itself isn't the only signal LinkedIn considers when determining relevance.

LinkedIn says its systems also consider profile information such as your industry, skills, experience, and professional background.

Which means your profile and your content shouldn't be telling two completely different stories.

You could write an excellent post about leadership, sales, marketing, or your area of expertise. But if your profile gives very little context about what you actually do, you're missing an opportunity to reinforce what you want to be known for.

Your profile isn't just a first impression anymore. It's part of the context LinkedIn uses to understand your professional identity.

➡️ Your headline should make your expertise clear
➡️ Your About section should reinforce the topics you want to be known for
➡️ Your experience should support the expertise you're demonstrating through your content

The takeaway?

Your content strategy and profile strategy should reinforce each other.

When was the last time you updated yours?

Stop putting links in your LinkedIn comments.

New data from nearly 300,000 posts just confirmed what many of us suspected.

The old workarounds don't work anymore.
➡️ Link in the comments? Your reach drops.
➡️ Edit the post to add a link after publishing? LinkedIn will shadow ban it.
➡️ Stack 3+ links in a single post? You're looking at a 24% reach penalty.

Here's what's interesting though. A single link in your post now only costs you about 2% reach. That's down from nearly 10% just a few months ago.

So LinkedIn isn't punishing all links equally. They're punishing the tricks.

The takeaway is simple. If you have one link that genuinely adds value, include it. Stop hiding it. Stop gaming where you place it.

But if you're stacking links or sneaking them in after the fact, you're hurting yourself more than you realize.

Are you still putting links in the comments?

Only 1% of LinkedIn users post weekly.

That 1% generates roughly 9 billion impressions.

Here's what makes this matter even more in 2026:

LinkedIn's algorithm has shifted from rewarding range to rewarding lane.

Go deep on ONE topic? You get resurfaced.

Post about everything? Buried under your own randomness.

➡️ Pick one topic
➡️ Go deep for 90 days
➡️ Let the algorithm learn what you're known for

You're not restricting what you talk about. You're restricting what you're known for. 🧠

What's your one topic for the next 90 days?

Your ideal client is scrolling LinkedIn right now.

Do they know you exist? 🤔

More importantly, do they know you solve their specific problem?

Here's a 3-step clarity exercise I give every client:

1️⃣ Who do you help?
Be specific. "Business owners" is too broad. "STEM consultants launching their first practice" tells a story.

2️⃣ What pain do they carry?
Not what YOU think they need. What keeps THEM up at night.

3️⃣ What transformation do you deliver?
Paint the after picture. Make it concrete.

When your message is clear, the right people find you. They step out of the shadows.

𝓒𝓵𝓪𝓻𝓲𝓽𝔂 𝓪𝓽𝓽𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓼, 𝓬𝓸𝓷𝓯𝓾𝓼𝓲𝓸𝓷 𝓻𝓮𝓹𝓮𝓵𝓼.

Try this exercise today and let me know what you come up with!

Most people think sales is about having the right pitch.

But the real skill? Tuning into the other person's frequency.

I spent years in HR watching brilliant people fumble conversations. Not because they lacked knowledge. Because they were speaking their own language, not the other person's.

Here's what I've learned:
➡️ Everyone has a buying style
➡️ It takes less than 90 seconds to identify it
➡️ Once you know it, you stop pitching and start connecting

You don't need a better script.

You need better ears. 👂

The best thing I ever did for my business was stop focusing on what I wanted to say and start focusing on how people were hearing it.

What about you? Are you speaking your language or your client's?

Every entrepreneur has a story worth telling.

But here's what I see too often: experts with incredible results who stay quiet because they don't want to come across as "salesy."

So they post nothing. Or they post something generic that sounds like everyone else.

Meanwhile, their ideal client is out there searching for exactly what they offer.

Here's what I tell my clients every single time:
➡️ Your story is your strongest marketing tool
➡️ Nobody else has your combination of experience and perspective
➡️ People buy from people they trust, and trust starts with being real

You don't have to overshare. You don't have to perform.

You just have to show up as you. Consistently.

The world doesn't need another polished brand voice. It needs yours. 🌍

What's one thing you've been hesitant to share about your business journey?

07/24/2026

Your LinkedIn profile isn't a resume. It's a landing page.

But most people treat it like a career summary. Job titles. Responsibilities. Skills lists. Credentials.

All of that tells me what you've done. None of it tells me whether you can solve my problem.

Your buyer isn't reading your profile to be impressed by your experience. They're reading it to answer one question.

Can this person help me?

If your About section reads like a bio, you're making them work too hard to find the answer.

Try this instead.
➡️ Lead with the problem your buyer faces.
➡️ Show them you understand what they're dealing with.
➡️ Make it obvious what working with you looks like.

Same experience. Same credentials. Different framing.

When your profile speaks to what your buyer needs, the right conversations start coming to you.

If nobody clicks "see more," nothing else in your post matters.

Your hook is the only thing that shows up in the feed before the fold. That first line decides whether someone stops scrolling or keeps going.

And here's what most people get wrong about hooks.

They try to be clever instead of clear.

Clever hooks create curiosity with no direction. Clear hooks tell the reader "this is for you and here's why you should care."

The best first lines do one thing. They make your ideal client feel seen.

Not impressed. Not entertained. Seen.

Next time you write a post, write your hook last. Finish the post first. Then ask yourself, what's the one line that would make my buyer stop scrolling?

That's your hook.

Most LinkedIn headlines are a job title and a company name.

That's it.

No mention of who you help. No mention of the problem you solve. No reason for the right person to click on your profile.

Your headline follows you everywhere on LinkedIn. Every comment you leave. Every post you publish. Every search result you show up in.

It's the most visible piece of real estate on your entire profile.

And most people are using it to introduce themselves instead of attract their buyer.

Here's a quick test. Read your headline out loud.

If your ideal client wouldn't immediately think "this person understands my problem," it's time to rewrite it.

You have 220 characters. Use them to speak to the person you want to reach.

Not to describe yourself.

Everyone thinks their LinkedIn problem is content.

Not enough posts. Wrong format. Bad timing. Weak hashtags.

So they focus on creating more.

But more content with an unclear message just means more noise.

The business owners I work with who turn things around don't start by posting more. They start by getting crystal clear on three things.

➡️ Who exactly they help.
➡️ What problem that person is trying to solve.
➡️ Why they're the right person to solve it.

Once those three things are clear, the content almost writes itself. The headline gets sharper. The hook gets stronger. The profile starts doing its job.

Most LinkedIn problems aren't content problems.

They're clarity problems.
