Comedy has been one of the most meaningful things I’ve ever tried to do. I have met so many amazing comedians and been on stages and in rooms that I can’t believe, made friends with people I considered super hero’s - masters of this thing I want to do so badly, and seen myself go from a very meek ghost of a girl to, if I do say so myself, a pretty confident public speaker. I can’t believe where comedy has taken me but I’m more in awe of the good that can be done with it.
I’ve been doing comedy dinner shows at the day center since February of 2023, when I very nervously asked my friend Evan to help me find some clean comics to put on a show. I had no idea what I was doing, but I know that we’re about to put on our 7th comedy dinner show, that we’ve served 750 hot meals, and created my favorite comedy show ever.
The day center is an organization I’ve been passionate about donating my time and money to since high school, and finding a way to use comedy to keep doing that is my dream.
This Friday is the next one. We’ll be cooking up and serving 125 piping hot meals before the comedy show.
If you want to help, message me, if you can’t donate money towards the dinner, come help us serve it, if you can’t make this one we have 2 left this year.
In 2025 we will do even more.
And I’ll die on this hill: comedy is cool there but there is nothing cooler than community outreach 💫
