Precision Fire Protection services and tests emergency lighting and exit signs as required by and in accordance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and code officials and performs a 90 minute annually required burn test on all emergency lights and exit signs, checking both battery life and bulb illumination.
It's the holiday decorating season, so please remember to water your tree and make sure all extension cords are used properly!
Two out of every five home holiday decoration fires are started by candles. Nearly half of decoration fires occur because decorations are placed too close to a heat source. Be sure your home is equipped with proper fire extinguishers and follow safety rules for decorating.

Be sure you have properly placed smoked detectors and carbon monoxide detectors with fresh batteries always, but especially during the fall and winter months.

Teach your children about the hazards of fires! Big kids are curious about fire. Teach your children about the hazards of playing with matches and other flammable materials, and don't underestimate the importance of practicing a fire escape plan with your family. Remember, knowledge is power!

In case of fire, be sure to have an escape plan and an outside meeting place at the workplace and at home. Fire escape plans should be practiced twice a year, making sure each drill is as realistic as possible.
*Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years
Find out how old a smoke alarm is by looking at the date of manufacture on the back of the alarm. The alarm should be replaced 10 years from that date.
