When the business, "The Clock Store" abruptly closed in 2020, over 200 clock customers were looking for their clocks. They were stashed in a warehouse that was nearly 4 months behind on rent. The landlord reached out and contacted me to come see what was there before he put everything in a dumpster. I walked in and saw customers heirlooms in pieces. Most had paid upfront hundreds of dollars.
My wife and I decided to call those people and give them back what was available instead of the landlord trashing everything. Most people were appalled, angry, very sad and even cried. Some called the police and other's called attorneys. The District Attorney even got involved. Some thought they could come in and threaten me. Most, however, asked if I could help them find the parts and get their clocks running again. I'm not bragging but I was able to repair all but 25 clocks at no charge to any of the customers. This is how my business actually began, quality repairs, honesty and on time. Word of mouth is the only advertising I've done.
Years later an associate with "The Clock Store" comes to me about a clock that I've never seen. A customer named Suzanne Rausch.
During a search, a case and dial were found in the warehouse. There was no movement, weights, pendulum, hands or chains. I was asked to see what I could do. I was able to find everything except the movement. I was able to purchase a used one for $300. I then had to overhaul the used movement for an additional $250 before installing it.
For a total of $550, a bargain for all the searching and work I had to do. On 8/1/24 she payed a portion of the $550 in the amount of $225. We agreed that when the clock was delivered to her house she would pay the balance. She never payed the balance.
While doing everything I could for this lady and trying to help her, she gave me a 1 star review on Yelp. I responded on Yelp and explained that I was not the repair facility she contracted to originally repair her clock and she changed the rating to a 5 star. I thought everything was good.
Then, out of the blue on 12/26/25, this same lady, Suzanne Rausch, gave my business another 1 star and a horrible review. This time Yelp won't remove it or allow me to respond.

I want all of my past, present and future customers to understand what the 1star review is and how it came about. Reviews mean everything to me and I take them seriously, I am not perfect, I do make mistakes but I fix them promptly. This situation is beyond my capacity, there is nothing I can do to ever make this person happy. Thank you all for 5½ great memorable years, but who's keeping TIME!!!
