Reclaimed Portland

Out of quarantine boredom I decided to challenge myself with a blacksmithing project for the first time and of course I added in a touch of custom carpentry. I designed a Norwegian hunting knife with some classic American style to it in my sketchbook. The handle was carved from a super unique chunk of spalted maple with a rift saw cut. The blade is a solid piece of white steel from knife blade to handle with hand punched triangles. What are you doing to entertain yourself during this weird time? Happy Halloween! Today also happens to be my birthday and I couldn’t be happier with the gift of this house and its furniture, all hand-crafted with love by Brendan.

Yes! We are still here! Brendan has been working hard on our house and its furnishings, but we’re excited to start offering outdoor tables as well as both finished and unfinished live edge slabs for customers who have their own bases + legs.

Our house is definitely taking a *bit* longer than we’d hope to finish, but holy 🐄 are we excited to show it to you all when it’s ready. This little guy is excited to be allowed back into his living room, too.

People ask us all the time where we get our wood - and we usually share - but this spot is one we’re keeping to ourselves forever. Mantle, outdoor dining table + headboard ✔️

What lodge dreams are made of

I think sometimes as women we wait for others to praise us, congratulate us, or tell us they’re proud of us. But with no apologies, I’m going to give myself a shout out to celebrate . I work a 9-5 job, run this business, take care of my dogs (and fiancé 😉), cook dinner most nights, and am still doing less than most other women I know. I’m a girl boss, I’m a badass, I’m a good daughter, fiancé, aunt, niece, cousin and friend, and I’m extremely proud to be a woman. 🤜🏼🤛🏼

Inspection went well today though I’m a little worried about how much Brendan held the inspector’s hand...
