The language is shifting. Disabilities to differences to neurodivergent. But language alone isn't enough. HR leaders and those in positions of power have to be brave enough to have these conversations and create space for neurodivergent voices to finally be heard. 🎙️

What if the problem was never the student, but the system? In this episode, Brandon Laws sits down with Beven Byrnes, Executive Director of Bridges Middle School in Portland, Oregon, the only school in Oregon exclusively serving neurodivergent students. Beven shares how Bridges is flipping the script on traditional education through relationship-based teaching, sensory-aware classrooms, and a deep commitment to belonging.

But the conversation doesn't stop at the classroom door. Beven connects the dots between what neurodivergent students need to thrive and what employers are still getting wrong. If you're a business leader, HR professional, or anyone who believes every person deserves a place where they can do their best work, this episode will challenge how you think about talent, culture, and what it really means to build an inclusive workplace!

Ever called your payroll provider and gotten a different person every single time?

You re-explain your business. You get a generic answer. You hang up no better off than when you called.

In this Ask HR video, Angela Perkins breaks down what’s really going on. Big box payroll companies sell you one thing: a human voice on the other end of an 800 number. That’s the value they’re delivering in that moment.

Personal service is something else entirely. It’s someone who answers your call, knows your name instead of a client number, and knows your business well enough to catch issues before they turn into problems.

You don’t have to settle for a stranger and a help line.

Anne, Kasey, Micaiah, Emily, and Gabrielle had a blast volunteering at Lan Su Chinese Garden this morning!

We filled three compost bins and washed and sanitized a ton of plastic planter pots to support Lan Su's horticulture team, which grows for the garden and donates edible plants locally. The team also took a moment to enjoy the lovely tea house, grab some drinks and snacks, and walk the garden.

Lan Su is a must-visit if you're in Portland! Thanks for having us back for a second year in a row! 🌱✨
