Caridad Community Kitchen

Our Culinary Training team spent this week connecting with other workforce development programs and learning from the incredible work happening in our community and beyond.

We visited two local organizations, GAP Ministries and Gospel Rescue Mission, as well as Root North Shore in Salem, MA. Each organization gave us a unique look at their programs, training models, and the ways they support their communities.

We love seeing fun fruit make its way into the kitchen! Our team received a donation of yellow watermelons and turned them into colorful electrolyte popsicles.

We’re always looking for tasty and creative ways to help our guests stay cool and hydrated during those high Tucson temps!

If you’ve been in the kitchen lately, you may have met our newest team member, Josh!

If Josh looks familiar, that’s because he graduated from our Culinary Training Program just three months ago with Class 42.

Now, Josh is back as a Temporary Prep Cook on our Kitchen Production team, and we couldn’t be more excited to have one of our alumni on staff! Josh has already had plenty of great things to say about being part of the team, and we’re pretty happy to have him here, too.

Josh will be with us through at least October 1st, so if you see him around the kitchen, be sure to say hi!

On Friday, our team had the opportunity to host a meet and greet with Mobile Meals of Southern Arizona.

Team members from both organizations have been working together to learn more about the incredible work Mobile Meals does. It was wonderful for the rest of us to finally meet them in person, share lunch, have great conversations, and give them a look at what we do here at Caridad Community Kitchen.
