If you want more dance and taiko after the Tucson Japanese Festival (and who could blame you), we're excited to invite you to Rhythm Industry Performance Factory THIS Wednesday, 3/25, to see Arugakki in concert with their Tricky Left Tour 2026!

Over three years in the making, "Tricky Left" is a dynamic and emotional powerhouse of original music and choreography, featuring taiko (Japanese drums), percussion, synthesizers, and home-made instruments enmeshed with movement.

Formed in 2020 by life-long dancer, Minh Nguyen, and internationally-recognized taiko artist, Kristofer Bergstrom, Arugakki debuted with its critically-acclaimed theater production, "Harbor" (https://k--b.org/performances/harbor-premier) and has gone on to become one of the taiko world's most exciting ensembles. A preview of "Tricky Left" presented at the 2025 North American Taiko Conference was acclaimed as one of the most original and emotional taiko performances of the last decade.

Apartment Available Aug 1:
This incredible live/work apartment is coming available Aug. 1. Located in the south east corner of the Rhythm Industry Performance Factory (aka RiPFactory) warehouse, just minutes from downtown and the University.

Beautiful, unique 1,000 sqft loft, full bath, kitchen, washer/dryer. Gorgeous welded steel floating staircase. Water, electric, and trash included, $1,320/month.

The upside: if you are a performing artist or woodworker, you can request a lease addendum for free use of the other RiPFactory resources, including the 1,400 sqft sprung-wood dance floor, aerial points, and a 600 sqft workshop.

The (potential) downside: the extensive sound-proofing we did can’t completely deaden the long wave lengths of taiko drums. So, Saturdays, 8:30am-2:30pm; Wednesdays 5:30-7:30pm, many Mondays 5:30-7:30pm, and for occasional special events, your home life will be accompanied by the low thrumming of many big drums.

We're so excited to bring you the world premiere of Chill, a staged reading by local playwright Erin Dietsche. Chill will be performed two nights only after a week-long workshop by Winding Road! Both performances will take place at Rhythm Industry Performance Factory

In the aftermath of a college frat party, pledge RJ succumbs to alcohol poisoning. Remembered as "a great guy" "friendly to everyone" and "nothing but nice" the campus is rocked when shocking accusations are made against him. Who was RJ, really? And what happened that night? Relevant and engaging, this roller coaster of a script will keep you on the edge of your seat.
