This rug has so many unique elements to its design motifs and color choices...😏

The main design in the field has an alternating Burdock pattern with an unusual grey dye used. The Cengel/Hook/S motifs close to the innder border all on the red/rust field make it such a great statement piece!

What do you think?? πŸ€”

This little beauty was hanging out in my garage this morning and clearly aligns with what I do and my passion. I take this as a great sign πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

It is a Hubbard's Silkworm (they're actually caterpillars). Genuine silk rugs and carpets are made using a special type of silk that is naturally produced by silkworms. It is essentially a fibrous proteinde up of amino acids. To harvest this natural silk, Silkworm cocoons are boiled and unwound to single fibers, which after get spun into silk yarns.

It has incredible and gorgeous characteristics from the Tendrils/osmetarium (antenae) on its Thorax (head) which can emit a pungent odor when threatened, to silver spikes running the length of its abdomen (body) that can act as a deterent for predators as well.
