So why do I believe in Equine Assisted therapy enough to sell 2 homes, buy a ranch, 3 goats, a horse and start a business? Because horses keep me a healthy therapist. I was at a place professionally a few years ago when I could sit in an office offer counseling and “hide” my own anxiety that I’ve worked on and managed for 20+ years. Then I discovered horses! One cannot hide successfully with a horse. They sniff anxiety a mile away and the ones I work with at Sierra Tucson call me out on it every day. Horses have taught me to relax, be in the moment, be more aware and to breathe. Such great breathers! I am forever grateful for my new partners and know I am only at the beginning of what they will teach me.
