Why was it so hard for her to ask for and accept help, she wondered. Could it be part of the denial that often accompanies aging? For her, it represented a role reversal. She’d always been the helper, but over the past few years, that had changed. She could no longer do everything for others or even for herself. Wrinkles, along with sagging skin, she expected. The loss of muscle tone and balance, arthritis, muscle pain, and less endurance each passing year crept up on her. Once independent, she now admitted that she required assistance.

A major role reversal occurred. Her husband became the helper. He puts her hearing aids in each morning, gets the walker in and out of the car, does all the driving, accompanies her toappointments, shops for groceries, prepares most meals, picks up dropped items from the floor, and performs a myriad of other tasks that arthritic joints make difficult or impossible. Job Type: Part-time

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Work Days: (Must be available to work ALL 3 days!) Friday-Sunday 7:00 am-7:00 pm.
One location - Assisted Living facility at North Sabino Canyon Rd./River Rd.

Work with multiple clients per day. This is a high-energy position that requires a lot of walking throughout the Hacienda community. This position entails working with seniors who live Independently at the Hacienda at the Canyons. You will assist members with light housekeeping, errands, transportation, medication reminders, personal care and provide daily engagement and enriching activities. The ideal candidate will be able to work with pets, and would be willing/able to transport clients in their personal vehicle.

Must pass background and reference check

JOB DESCRIPTION:

If you have professional caregiving experience and looking for consistent income and work days then this is the job for YOU! We'll assign you 36 hours a week - if we don't, we'll still pay you for 36 hours!

Pay: $19/hr. plus benefits. This position has overtime possibilities.

This is a daytime position only. Must be available to work all (4) of the following days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 7:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.

*Must have at least one year professional experience working with Advanced Alzheimer's and Dementia (Professional Training preferred!)

* Must have at least one year of professional experience working as a caregiver with Seniors in home care.

Must be able and willing to work with any of our clients including those who have pets, those that may be on Hospice, have psychological problems such as Dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other medical conditions.
Must have a suitable automobile to transport frail clients, and must be willing to travel to any location.
This position also includes occasional fill-in's at Hacienda at the Canyon, which includes working with multiple clients per day.
Provide assistance with ADL's, personal care, companionship, transportation, assisting with shopping and running errands, light housekeeping, as well as meal planning and preparation.
