Last Friday, we had the opportunity to gather with several of the incredible nonprofits who will be recipients of the Tucson Giving Machine. ❤️

We’re so excited to come together, celebrate these amazing organizations, and help make a difference in our community. We can’t wait for December 1st! 🎁✨

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing a little more about each of these incredible nonprofits and the important work they’re doing in our community. We hope you’ll follow along, get to know them, and join us in supporting their missions!

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Tucson Ward 5 Council Member Selina Barajas for a tour of Beacon Group headquarters!
We enjoyed showing her and her team around and discussing ways we can create more opportunities for people with disabilities around Tucson.

Chad Langford has been an integral member of the Beacon team at Hill Air Force Base for over 10 years. Check out this article from SourceAmerica featuring him and his success and achievements!

Chad Langford has spent more than 24 years working on a range of Program contracts. He started as a custodian at an AbilityOne federal contractor in SourceAmerica's network and quickly proved himself as a hard worker and leader. In October 2015, he began working for Beacon Group on the Hill AFB total facilities maintenance contract.

Langford has cerebral palsy, which affects movement and posture, and he experiences seizures. This creates walking difficulties and he has no use of his left hand, but before asking for assistance, Langford adapts and prefers to “find a way to do it.” With his positive attitude, years of experience in a variety of roles, and patient manner, Beacon Group promoted Langford to Lead General Maintenance Worker in June 2024. Come to the Local First Arizona August Tucson Business Mixer at Beacon Group! It's a relaxed evening to meet other local business owners, make new connections, and enjoy great conversation with Tucson's business community.

There will be light refreshments, a live DJ, gift card raffles, and plenty of time to network. Plus, Beacon will give a quick look at the services we offer businesses and share how partnering with us can help your organization while supporting meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities in our community.

July is Disability Pride Month, celebrating disability identity and inclusion and marking the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), signed on July 26, 1990.
The ADA prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities and helps ensure equal access to all parts of life, including employment, public services and accommodations in places such as restaurants and hotels.
Today, we are duly honoring the passage of this important law as well as the month that celebrates disability identity, culture and community!

Beat the Arizona heat and join our friends at Friends of the Arc of Tucson for a Free Ice Cream Party to celebrate the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)!
