B.O.B. Trailer Pizza Delivery
On Tuesday we closed the shop to get caught up on a backlog of bike builds. Seemed like a good time for a little pizza party so I got out the old BOB Trailer and rode over to Whole Slvce Pizza. Good thing about picking up pizza in hundred degree heat is the pizza stays warm on the delivery.

Another Ride Around The World
In anticipation of Lael Wilcox’s second ride around the world, we decided to throw on our best socks (Lael dot socks) and head up Mt.Lemmon!
Lael is making her second attempt to ride around the world! But this time, it’s an even crazier attempt; to ride around the world in under 78 days! If anyone can do it, it’s Lael. I cannot wait to keep watching her dot as she makes her way through 20+ countries over 18,000 miles! Go Lael go!

I’m On The Edge
After a week of riding around the Grand Canyon, it felt great to return to the sunny trails of southern Arizona. This trip put my bike through its paces, from sticky peanut-butter mud to delicious descents. My Tumbleweed Sunliner handled it all exceptionally well, confidently rolling through the chunkier sections and delivering a smooth, balanced ride throughout.
I'm always tweaking and rethinking my setup as I go, but after this adventure, I'm happy to report that very little needs to change. That's a testament to both the bike and the gear. Now I'm already looking forward to the next adventure!

Moshi Attempt
This past weekend, I joined a few cycling buddies for an ambitious 325km ride from Nairobi to Moshi, Tanzania. We rolled through the chilly night, watched dawn break, and pushed through the day’s heat.
By the end of the first day, my body had taken about as much as it was willing to give. I made it to the Kenyan border, called it there, and turned back instead of continuing on to Moshi. It was not the finish I had imagined, but it was still a fantastic ride—one that pushed me right up against my limits and reminded me why big days on the bike stay with you long after the legs stop aching.

New Otso Warakin Day at bxb!
A few weeks ago I got a hold of my new commuter/gravel machine, an Otso Warakin Steel! Photographing it with yesterday's breakfast by bike in the background seemed like the appropriate opportunity for its Tidbits debut. I've been really enjoying racing around town on this zippy setup. I went for a minimal load carrying setup with my tools, lock, pump and lunch in a Swift Catalyst and my laptop in a backpack. Catch me if you can!

Take it easy Toby
When you call into campfire and chat in depth with Toby about bike packing gear, there’s a solid chance he’s laying on the ground kicking his feet up, just chillin.

Jacob the bicycle wizard
If you haven't gathered by now, Jacob is a complete bicycle wizard. Over the years I’ve seen him solve numerous long unsolved problems with people's bikes. If you ever wonder how he does it- he does it completely with his mind.
Here he is plugged in to this Fazua system on a rad Salsa Wanderosa, fine tuning it and giving it system updates. The world of bikes is better and funner with Jacob in it!

Always Second Best
For our last “Breakfast by Bike,” Toby decided it was the perfect time to get a tooth infection, leaving , , and me to take over pancake duty. All morning people kept asking, “Where’s Toby?” and “How does your pancake art compare to Toby’s?” Needless to say, he was definitely missed.
That said, credit where it’s due: the team did a pretty solid job holding down the fort. Still, I think it’s safe to say Toby better be back in June… or we may have a full-on pancake revolt on our hands, with pancakes being thrown instead of eaten.

Make it yours…
I’m gonna continue this make-it-mine series by mixing some repairs that come in the shop with cool Make-it-Mine bikes that we process through our configurator.
This week’s feature is our customer Doug’s Pivot. Beyond some wild mechanical mods—Doug is very into interesting DIY projects in all corners of life—he decided to give his beloved Pivot a little sparkle. It’s a fun touch that gives the bike real personality and matches Doug’s excellent shirt game.
Enjoy making your bike yours.

Cinnamon roll from Molly
Last Thursday, Molly surprised Elliot and me with a giant cinnamon roll from a new bakery down the street called 1989 Bake House. It was amazing—not too sweet and very fluffy. 10/10!
