❀️ This week's Children's Heart Gallery feature is Logen!

Logen is a thoughtful, curious, and determined young boy with a heart for adventure. Logen's interests include cars, video games, music, and outdoor exploration. He is a true car enthusiast; he loves muscle cars and dreams of owning one someday. Logen envisions himself becoming an auto-mechanic or a construction worker when he gets older. He is fascinated by the inner workings of cars, but he also feels drawn to a career where he can build items and work on various projects.

Logen is imaginative and energetic, thriving on a day filled with engaging activities. His kind and considerate nature is evident in his interactions, often showing gratitude for those who support him. With a great sense of humor and a knack for telling jokes, he brings joy and laughter to those around him. He brings determination and energy to anything he sets out to accomplish.

Logen would like to be a part of an active family that shares his love for outdoor adventures like camping, hiking, or fishing. He would flourish in a home that offers structure, consistency, and loving care. Whether it is a two-parent or a single-parent home, Logen hopes to have a strong male role model to guide and inspire him as he grows. He would do best in a home where he can be the only child or the youngest child in the family.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸ“¦ Foster Care Parenting Tip: Help foster children adjust during a big move with small, supportive actions.

Moving can be overwhelming for any child, but foster children may experience these transitions more often and with added emotional stress. New homes, schools, routines, and environments can bring feelings of anxiety, sadness, or uncertainty. Here are a few ways to help foster children cope with a move:

~ Show photos of the new home, school, or neighborhood beforehand to help them know what to expect.
~ Encourage them to talk openly about their feelings, questions, or worries.
~ Let them help pack their belongings or decorate moving boxes to create a sense of involvement and control.
~ Keep routines as consistent as possible during the transition.
~ Help them stay connected to supportive relationships when appropriate.

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈβœŠ Celebrate Pride Month with Spreading Threads Clothing Bank.

Throughout June, Pride Month, we celebrate the LGBTQIA community. The entire month of June is a time to remember those who paved the way for the LGBTQA community and those who continue to rally for the community.

Many LGBTQIA youth have additional trauma from being rejected or mistreated because of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. About 30 percent of youth in foster care identify as LGBTQIA; therefore, it is important to honor all gender identities, gender expressions, and sexual orientations this June.
