"Nearly 1 million Arizonans are enrolled in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as Food Stamps. SNAP helps limited-income individuals and families expand their budgets to purchase food. SNAP can be used to buy foods like fruits, vegetables, and meats at grocery stores, convenience stores, as well as farmers’ markets. It can also be used to purchase seeds and plants that produce food." ~ WildfireAZ.org

To determine if you qualify, contact Eryka Estrada or Daisy Gomez at Pio Decimo (520) 364-6789 for a free, confidential screening or to apply. You can also apply for TANF Cash Assistance and AHCCCS at the same time.

Too young for good credit? Here's a story about one of our credit builder clients: Jose came to us as a 17-year-old when he took our Credit Builder 8-week class. He also enrolled in our Credit Builder program. Predictably, Jose had a credit score of 0 when he joined the program. After several months, his score went up to 455. Four months later, it is now 650. We can't wait to see what Jose's credit score will be after his last payment is reported to the credit bureaus. Moreover, Jose didn't pay any fees to participate in the program AND he will get back the $120 he paid ($10 monthly for one year!) WIC is a free nutrition and breastfeeding program for pregnant and breastfeeding women and their children who are under 5 years old. Come by Pio Decimo tomorrow, Wednesday the 27th from 8am to 5pm or any 2nd or 4th Wednesday. Call 520/670-0962 to make an appointment or drop by!

Tax preparation time is here at Pio Decimo Center! Tomorrow (1/16/19) we will begin preparing applications at no charge. Think about how much of your refund you'd like to save. We recommend saving 1/3 for emergencies, 1/3 to reduce or pay off debt, and 1/3 to treat yourself.
