Here’s a piece I have for sale now at $695. I was shocked at the Tucson Gem Show yesterday to see this at a wholesale for this very price. Native American jewelry “southwestern style” is going the way of American cars. It’s all being made somewhere else, India, Pakistan, China, Mexico. Sad but true.

Hi All, I'm not selling in Tucson right now. The price for the booth I used to rent was $4200 at the 22nd St. show. This year the price would be $8200. So...
Anyway, I went to one of the big wholesale shows yesterday and had some major sticker shock. There was a huge booth, full of what looked like very expensive Native American jewelry. And I guess you could call it "Indian Jewelry" cause it was definitely all made in India. Southwestern style. Very disappointing. Even the Turquoise out of Kingman has gone way up in price.
Anyways, it's clear if I want to stay in this business and buy Native American jewelry it's going to have to be from people I know personally.
Beware of fake stuff and prepare to pay for the real thing.
