UPDATE: Due to a number of factors, not the least of which is the recent rise in SARS CoV2 cases in Pima County, I will not be doing any facepainting for the remainder of 2021. I will also not be taking any henna appointments nor events for at least the next few months.
Thank you for your understanding.
For facepainting I can highly recommend Maddys Face and Body Art. You will love them! Check out their page Maddys Face and Body Art.
The photo is a sketch done in henna a couple of years ago as part of a daily henna practice participation.
Another update: I am not taking any appointments nor events at this time. I anticipate possibly being available again beginning mid-summer. Thank you all for your interest and for your patience.

Here it is! The photo of my window painting of the Food Conspiracy tomato catching a wave during the beach week on 4th Ave. a few years back. Fun times. If your business windows could use something eye-catching, get in touch! Murals too!

Here's a cool photo from 9 years ago that popped up in my memories today. It's the window of the Food Conspiracy Co-op on 4th Ave. that I painted for the Fourth Avenue Merchants Association beach theme that summer, featuring the famous co-op veggies! I'll see if I can find a photo of the other window, featuring the co-op tomato on a surfboard.
If your business windows could use an extra splash of color and interest get in touch!

After a couple of months' hiatus I've begun mixing fresh henna again. The second batch has possibly the best texture I've mixed to date. It inspired the first henna I've put on my own hand in several months. The stain is light, as I purposely washed the henna paste off shortly after it dried. The other objects in the photo are special to me. The decorative breadboard and spoon are from Hungary, a gift from my sister. The candlestick is from Romania, a delightful reminder of an unforgettable trip many years ago. What is inspiring you during this crazy time in our world? How are you responding to your inspirations? What is bringing you some small joy in the midst of it?

This photo is a fresh henna stain from my most recent appointment, the first since early March. This stain will darken more over the next couple of days. I've decided to start taking very limited appointments again, with the best measures I can put in place to avoid potential risk from the Covid-19 virus. Masks are of course a requirement, outdoors only, separate from other people, only one person / design per appointment, sanitized/disposable surface cover, alchol wipe before application, single-use henna applicator, etc.
Contact me with any questions you might have.
For those who are choosing to stay at home as much as possible, I've begun to put together some "At-Home Henna Kits". They can be configured to suit your preference and your budget. Details will be listed in my next post. P.s. I have also begun a series of very elementary how-to apply henna lessons on my IGTV The first one goes pretty slowly, but please check it out and let me know what you think.

Announcement: After some direct feedback I have changed my decision and will be leaving this business page open for awhile longer, per my more recent post. The photo is of a henna design I did in February 2019 based on the north rose window of Notre Dame Cathedral ( a few months before the fire).

During this time of social distancing I'm doing more "no contact" art. I'm currently working on a project for the Core Nutrition smoothie shop at Campbell and Hedrick (by the Pastiche restaurant). I'm painting their new logo onto two of their walls in preparation for their grand reopening the first Saturday of June. Here's a sneak peek at the first one, that I finished this evening

Just a quick pen, pencil, and watercolor sketch done while watching a facebook live demo given by Rick Wheeler through the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute. A few leaves on an agave.

Now that I'm not painting on people for the moment, I'm applying my face-painting and henna skills to some non-moving targets. If you have an outdoor wall that needs a mural, or a decorative border, shoot me a text or a call, and we can talk. Photos are from a wall project I am working on with a good friend, for her back wall. First panel with mandalas is done, second panel has been sketched in, and partly outlined. Two more panels to go.
