Marisa is now officially Mocha and she has chosen her family! What started out as a 2 weeks trial adoption has turned into forever for this lovely family, and we are so happy for this great girl!

We wish them lots of happy tomorrows and many great memories yet to be made. It was a treat to see her again today and it's clear she loves her mom and dad. Congrats to all of you, and Mocha, keep being a very good girl!

Cooper

Cooper is happily decompressing in a foster home after almost 6 months of shelter life. This sweet guy clearly has had some rough days in his past. He has significant anxiety and is currently on meds to help him with that; he is doing well with them and will need to continue them going forward. He has separation anxiety and needs a home where he won't be spending long stretches of his days alone. He loves people, and he has done well meeting most dogs--he seems to appreciate females who are a bit smaller than him and no high energy dogs, please, they make him nervous. We have no info on cats or small dogs at this time. He enjoys toys, despite most of his teeth being worn down. Due to his teeth, he does prefer softer food/treats. He likely has some mastiff in him, which helps to explain his stubbornness when it comes to walks (his foster says that with love--Cooper likes what he likes!), so a strong handler and one experienced with larger breeds would be ideal. His foster is looking for the ideal adopter, and is in no hurry to get him out the door; finding the right person/couple is the most important thing. He is available to adopt.

Lester came into PACC as a stray. He is a BIG guy and was described by shelter staff as being a gentle giant. He enjoys cooling off in the pools in the play yards at PACC on these hot summer days. He is a pretty nervous guy, but he enjoys being with his person/people a whole lot. Walks make him nervous, because it is a big scary world out there, and being in a kennel is scary, too. But when you take the time to sit with him and give him some attention, he just melts into you. He will play with a tennis ball once in a while, and is starting to discover toys. Astrid has been with her loving foster family for a while now, hoping to find her forever home. They bring her to TRN each week, typically every Sunday. While she loves to visit the store, we know she'd really like to meet that special person or family she can call her very own for all the rest of her days! She loves her foster boys, even comforting them when they're sad. One of her favorite things is to play tug, she is amazingly strong for a gal her age! She enjoys car rides, snuggling is a favorite past-time, rolling in the grass and she'll even fetch when the feeling strikes. Squeaky toys are the best, and she can de-squeak and unstuff them in no time flat. She likes being the only dog in her current home, although she has met male dogs in the past that she enjoyed playing with, so that's a possibility. This special gal will steal your heart! She is available to adopt.

Sasha arrived as a stray, so we don't know much about her life before she came to PACC. In play group at the shelter, she prefers low energy dogs and was said to be easy-going with them. She was not a fan of very forward or overly friendly/playful dogs, mostly keeping to herself and was people oriented. She might do best as an only dog, but we are always happy to do a meet and greet with a potential pal. She is easy to handle and walks well on leash, but she can put her weight behind it if she wants to pull you in a specific direction. She needs a strong handler. She doesn't seem too impressed with toys currently, but that can change over time. She definitely enjoys sitting next to her favorite person and getting some cuddle time in. She is available to adopt or foster.

Brother Bear

Brother Bear just returned from a foster break! He originally arrived at the shelter as a stray. Things we now know about him, thanks to his foster folks:
-He really needs a yard he can run and play, and just lounge in the fresh air.
-He needs a no cats home--NO exceptions, please!
-He would likely prefer to be your one and only; he can be reactive towards other dogs while on walks, but he was housed with a smaller female originally at PACC
-He is house trained!
-He enjoys walks, chewing on his toys and chasing his ball
-Commands he knows: Sit, Lay Down, Come Here, No
-He is treat motivated, which makes training so much easier and more fun for you both!
-He loves to sit by the window and watch the world go by
-He is very tuned in to his person's emotional state of mind and likes to cheer you
up if you're feeling down
-He's both protective and gentle with the people he knows
-He LOVES belly rubs
-He needs a home with a secure yard, especially until he learns that he is safe and won't try to door dart.

Daisey

PLEASE read her description, we quickly need a foster for her--BEFORE MONDAY!

Daisey arrived at the shelter after she was left abandoned in a hotel room. She was in rough shape when she first got to PACC, but she has spent her time there healing and now she needs our help. She needs to have surgery on her unusually large cherry eye done at a local eye specialty vet, and it is scheduled for Monday, 9/28. They want her in a foster or adoptive home so that she recuperates there and not back at the stressful shelter where the likelihood of a failed healing process is far more likely. The surgery is covered by Friends of PACC and we are hoping to help her find a soft comfy place to chill once she is on the healing path. She would do best as an only dog, especially during the healing process so she doesn't get too amped up. She is very people-oriented and mostly kept to herself during her play group sessions at PACC. When it comes to leashing, she can be head-shy and is a strong puller, so an experienced and/or strong handler would be ideal. She was well-behaved when she got a bath from a shelter volunteer, and it gave her the zoomies afterwards--she felt so good. This sweet girl has had a rough life up to this point and really deserves to find her happily ever after in a loving, safe home. She is available to adopt or foster.

Pixel came to PACC as part of a hoarding case. Like most of the dogs from this location, he is scared and quite nervous, so he will need to find a foster or forever home that will give him the time he needs to settle in and learn that he will always have enough yummy food and clean water to drink and that he will be truly loved and cared for. He would likely do well with a calm confident other little dog to learn from, but it isn't a requirement. He doesn't currently walk on leash, but that's easy enough to help him learn. Patience and understanding will help him adjust to his new life and to become a happy little guy. He is available to adopt or as a temporary foster to help him adjust behaviorally (2 weeks).
