Designing well in the Sonoran Desert takes knowledge, craft, and community. APLD Arizona exists to build all three.

Every place has its own design language. Ours is written in saguaro and palo verde, in stucco walls and the kind of light that only happens here at golden hour.

We couldn’t resist giving our chapter a little visual identity to match.
This graphic is our love letter to the Sonoran Desert ✨ the APLD spirit, with an Arizona soul. A saguaro where the tree stands, and a sun that actually means something here. 🌵☀️

Arizona landscape design isn’t about working around this ecosystem. It’s about designing with it and learning its language, respecting its logic, and creating spaces that feel like they were always meant to be here.

The Sonoran Desert doesn’t forgive uneducated design. The heat, the soil, the seasonal rhythms - they all have opinions! The landscape designers who thrive here have learned to listen.
APLD Arizona is the professional home for those designers. A community built around craft, education, and the kind of peer connection that makes your work better.

The Sonoran Desert is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. It has its own palette, its own rhythm, its own rules.

Designing here isn’t like designing anywhere else, and the landscape designers who do it well know that the land is always part of the conversation.

APLD Arizona is the state chapter of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers. We exist to connect, support, and elevate the landscape design profession in Arizona. We are rooted in this ecosystem, and proud of the community we’re building around it.
