Inna Rohr Artist
My art is about finding spirituality and getting lost on the way, about allowing and exposing, about courage and weaknesses… it’s about being human.

A lilac bush is a case of "too much" for me: too much scent, too many flowers. But one twig and its delicate shadow is just perfect 😍
Most recent oil on board, 11x14 in :)), available 😊

Sometimes, out of the blue, I get beautiful notes from people who have my artwork in their collections. It warms my heart and grounds my soul, especially during the times when I don't get to paint much, like right now. Thank you for the post from my studio-now this oil painting has found a new home too☺️

"Claw Fight," oil on board, 14x14"
These seed pods are like a household fixture in these areas. I love them and my house is full of them. They are curvaceous yet wildly sharp, stoic, gnarly, and so very feminine.

This unusual annual plant is also a summer bloomer. Devil’s claw leaves are very sticky and covered with fine hairs. You will know immediately if you brush against it.
In areas with sufficient rainfall, this herb can be bush-like, up to 3 feet in height. It produces lovely pink flowers, followed by large, curved, distinctive pods. Devil’s claw blooms from August thru October and is found near washes, gravelly flats, and rocky slopes, up to 5,000 feet in elevation.
The Tohono O’odham uses the dried, split seedpods in their finely woven baskets. The dried fibers of the pods provide the black color seen in their basket designs.
The hooks on the end of the split seedpod, along with the sticky hairs, catch on the legs of passing animals (or humans). In this way, the seeds are dispersed to other areas away from the parent plant.

Oil on board, 12x12" - new work

I've been thinking of the cyclical nature of energies, inspiration, motivation and will-internal, external, conditional. How rich a wave of energy feels after a period of lack. Perhaps it's the madness all around us that sends us from one extreme to the other. It made me crave humanity even more and I gravitated back to figurative explorations. I think this painting might be about that? My own story seems to exist somewhere in the emotional realm, but others have shared incredible interpretations!

seems like a good time to show up for each other, buy art, donate to non-profits, ours, or anyone else's! The Small Works show represents over 70 local artists, who are collectively and individually impacted by any number of horrendous policies dropped over the last week. It is hard to know how to stay in the light - but we are going to keep asserting that the arts are the common link to our humanity and hope to see you out in the world, OFF this dumb platform that we sadly have come to rely on to let you know We Are Here. love, Inna and Emily
