Mel Robbins said it perfect - This is a great reminder that while we might not have power over every emotion that arises, we do have control over our responses.

If we focus on channeling our feelings into positive actions that align with our goals and values, we not only set a strong example for our teams but also foster a culture of resilience and proactive leadership.

🌟🎉 : Today we celebrate freedom and reflect on the significant moment in history when the last enslaved African Americans learned of their emancipation. Let’s honor this day with joy and a commitment to equality and justice for all.

🚨 Did you know:

Juneteenth marks the day, June 19, 1865, when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the end of the Civil War, ensuring the freedom of all slaves in the state.

The period after Juneteenth is known as the ‘Scatter.’ - Undeterred by the recommendation to remain in place, many former slaves left the area during the original reading. In the following weeks formerly enslaved people left Texas in great numbers to find family members and make their way in the postbellum United States.

🎯 Celebrate:

1) Participate in local Juneteenth festivals, parades, and educational events.

2) Support Black-owned businesses and artists as a way to celebrate the culture and contributions of the African American community.

3) Reflect on the ongoing journey toward civil rights and take action by engaging in community service or advocacy work.

Let’s continue to learn, honor, and celebrate the journey toward freedom and equality. 🎉

🗣️💙 : June is dedicated to raising awareness about aphasia, a condition that affects the ability to communicate and is often caused by stroke or other brain injuries.

🚨 Did you know:

Aphasia affects over 2 million Americans, but many people have never heard of it.

It impacts the ability to speak, write, and understand language, but does not affect intelligence.

🎯 Take Action:

1) Learn about the different types of aphasia and how they affect communication.

2) Be patient and supportive when communicating with someone who has aphasia. Give them time to speak and use tools like writing or gestures to aid understanding.

3) Spread the word about aphasia to increase understanding and support. Share resources and stories to help educate others.

Let's use our voices to support those whose voices are affected. Encourage acceptance, promote communication accessibility, and push for better care and research. 💙
