We would like to take the time to congratulate our very own founder and director of the RENEW Team, Dr. Alicia Allen, for being awarded the 2025 COM-T Women in Medicine and Science- WIMS GRACE Excellence Award! This award recognizes faculty who have made significant contributions to improve the careers of fellow women in physicians and celebrates those who lift others up and breakdown barriers for women in faculty in COM-T.

We’re incredibly proud of Dr. Allen, and her constant work and efforts to uplift those around her—not only here at RENEW Team, but in COM-T. Congratulations!

March is National Women's History Month. The RENEW Team celebrates and honors all women around the world and our lives as we celebrate centuries of success and accomplishments.

This week, we’d like to highlight our RENEW Undergraduate Intern, Gagana, who presented on the Relationship Between ACE’s in Postpartum Women with OUD and Baby Sleep Location this past January at the 25th Annual Undergraduate Biology Research Program (UBRP)!

Since sleep quality is an important part of our heath and oftentimes a stressor when the baby is young, Gagana looked into sleep location and the connection between ACE’s to see if past traumas may lead to certain differences in sleep patterns and parental practices. Gagana is a current undergraduate student in their sophomore year studying nutritional sciences all while interning here at RENEW. Way to go, Gagana!
