I like lyrics that seem kinda dumb - deceptively simple, but well crafted with internal consonance, easy memorability, a certain "classic" (slightly trite?) ring to em, and a subtle multiplicity of referentiality whenever possible - what some would call double entendres, but I really feel two entendres is the minimum, three would be better.

If you wanna feel good-weird and happy-sad, you might take a gamble on REV WYN's first collab EP, an unexpected outing with the mysterious-delirious Bill Owens of Tucson, AZ.

This is a bit unique - two DIY anti-establishment artsy-fartsy synth-heads from different generations and different worlds somehow collided and co-created what turned out to be...a classic?

The "Radical Pleasures" EP. 5 songs - singles dropping now, out in full 8/12/22.

Bill has been making DIY music since the 70s. He was in seminal underground act who's LP "Time Machine" is now a collectors item in certain rarefied circles. He opened for and partied with notables such as .ramones
etc before ultimately moving into the professional sector to get rich and have babies (seriously through Bill is a real dude with a fascinating life and you'll have to talk to him to get the real full story - I'm just going to give you a warped reduced version to fit my purposes, ok?)

Bill became a fan of the work of REV WYN thru the consistent content and live performance I pumped out around the release of my LP "Total Abandon" and featured my music on his show before finally coming to a live show at and offering me a business card with a link to the music he'd been releasing recently as after returning to music making after decades away.

I'll share more of the story in time, but here's what it boiled down to. I listened to the music at the link in that business card and it made me feel something, unlike most music i hear (sad but true, it's an oversaturated market full of an unfortunate ratio of weak sauce to the good stuff. I'm not talking about YOUR music of course, but u know what I mean).

In addition, Bill was open to collaboration, and there were a surprising number of parallels between our work.

I have never made music like this before...

The first single off my collab EP - "Radical Pleasures" - with Bill Owens : "Sunday on Wheels"

Now operating under the name , Bill was a member of the truly wonderful 80s act Deo Toy - their record "Time Machine" is awesome and now collectible.

For this project Bill provided me with instrumental tracks recorded with synths and drum machine in the early 80s, and I added lyrics, more synths etc in my studio.

The result is a seamless sandwich of past and present , and turned into something I never would've come up with on my own.
