Last week we had dinner with Anthony Grove. Every revenue cycle leader in the room left with something they could use.

The line that hit hardest: if a workflow isn't documented and flowcharted, it isn't teachable, scalable, or sustainable. Not a best practice - a standard.

Anthony also drew a line most teams blur: denial management vs. denial prevention. Appeals fix outcomes. Root cause analysis fixes cash flow. The teams winning on AR days are doing the second one.

One more that stuck - payors are partners under pressure. Organizations that flag both underpayments AND overpayments, and lean into case management, build relationships that pay dividends. Most teams only play defense.

Hospital margins are declining while expenses climb. There's no room for RCM strategy that isn't built to scale.
