This is our last Hail Mary! We want to be completely transparent with all of you. We no longer have money to put into Lovin’ Spoonfuls. The debt has just become too much. It’s not that no one comes in to eat, we do continue to have support, it is just not enough to cover the debt and expenses. The only way to keep going is to get rid of the debt and we have no more options. On that note we are throwing it out to the community if there is anyone or a group of people that just can not see Lovin’ Spoonfuls go and want to put in their money and take it over. Sunday we will be at the restaurant from 4pm-6pm for any one is interested! Please no negative comments, we have really tried and made the restaurant go on longer than you think. We have met so many amazing people and this is really hard for us!
Had an absolutely delightful time at yesterday evening. The space is one that is both ephemeral and eternal. The aroma wafting up from the plate may last only a moment, but the memories pressed in the floors from the years of foot traffic are a hint at how long new memories made here will last. The down stairs is going to be an absolute gem in the already bejeweled speakeasy scene that Tucson seems to be flush with, and I cannot wait to go back. I’m still having phantom tastes of that pistachio affogato. 12/10

My life and this song had a lot of parallels in May. Seeing my professional and personal friends have huge wins has been invigorating and overwhelmingly deserved. Annoyingly though, I can’t turn off the introspection, and the light of their success has made me very aware of the shadowy pools around my inaction. I’ve written 2 songs for the first time in a LONG time and I think they’re gonna cool, but like the song says
The songs I used to play for fun and joy
Became a metric of what I am worth
More importantly, something my friends seem to have mastered, even just enough to push through to make it happen, is the crux of the song that hits me like a hammer: what if it works out? If it works out, will you be happy? What if I put out a song and it actually gets traction? What if the art they made gets seen and loved? What if the business expansion succeeds and thrives? They’ve shown me success doesn’t have to be a detriment. Time for me to get to it, I guess 🥲
It has been a hellacious week. How is it only Wednesday?! Cheers to and for two fun shoots that took us all over the state for their promos. Also thanks for being a lovely script supervisor and being ready for the bts moments! Thanks also also to .d.olsen for being an excellent “whatever you need me to be” person on all these shoots. Extraordinarily massive thanks to for kicking names and taking butts with me on these GeoBeats shoots (but mostly for this new pizza bucket hat that is now basically my whole personality and pairs wonderfully with this shirt.)
Sadly, the week was more difficult in the non-work world thanks to some animal adventures. We had a bit of a medical crisis with one of our foster kittens, and we picked up a pup running through the neighborhood who was none too pleased to be stuck in our back yard over night. But he’s a PACC and his intake notes stated “Did not attempt to bitte in Admissions. Overall easy going guy” which is a perfect endorsement of a sweet giant with the name of Baby Boy.
