This last year brought a new set of challenges and opportunities for excellence, it seemed only fitting that we host our first every virtual NextMed annual conference this past month. While we were not able to meet in person to enjoy each other’s camaraderie, conversations or the fantastic food truck round up, we were able to disseminate a world class knowledge which keeps our company on the forefront of medical service providers, unsurpassed in our domain.
While it was a blast to see each other’s personalities in full effect on their meeting backgrounds, we are looking forward to reconvening in person next year!
We have been looking forward to this day for a long time, but we made it. Happy new year, everyone!

ESWL is the only non-invasive way to treat a kidney stone, and with no stent, greatly reducing the possibility of infection.
ESWL, or extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy, is a very common, non-invasive method for treating stones in the kidney or ureter, the tube which drains the urine from the kidney to the bladder. It utilizes an energy source which generates a shock wave that is directed at the stone.

A high-sodium diet can trigger kidney stones because it increases the amount of calcium in your urine. So, a low-sodium diet is recommended for the stone prone. Current guidelines suggest limiting total daily sodium intake to 2,300 mg.
