Trumbull’s Epic Day of Service fun And fellowship event: On Sat May 16, our Rotary club participated in the Rotary Epic Day of Service by assembling 300 toiletry kit for students at a local elementary school in Bridgeport. Rotarians packed essential hygiene items like soap, deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, and Chapstick for students whose families are facing financial hardship. This hardship directly impacts the student’s health, confidence, and well-being at school. Since SNAP benefits don’t cover hygiene products, these kits are helping to meet an important need for students on their families.

The Trumbull High Interact students will be hosting a Food Drive, and they need our help! Please bring along a non-perishable item to support families in our community facing food insecurity.

We were proud to recognize our first students of the month at last Friday mornings Rotary meeting. Throughout the next few weeks, we will be honoring outstanding students, celebrating young people in our community who demonstrate leadership, kindness, and ‘Service above Self.’ We kick things off by recognizing two exceptional students and we’re excited to highlight more in the week ahead. Stay tuned as we continue to celebrate the next generation of leaders.

Today we gathered for our annual Norman K. Parcells fellowship luncheon, a meaningful tradition held in memory of a dedicated Rotary, who devoted his life to service to both his community and his nation.
This luncheon is rooted in the Rotary idea of service above itself. Each year we honor one outstanding individual from each of the nine participating clubs.
Our own Trumbull Rotary honoree is someone who is at her happiest quietly helping others in the background, never seeking recognition, but always showing up when it matters most. Family is everything to her, and she extends that same sense of care and belonging to our Rotary club — truly, considering it an extension of her own family and the community she loves. She was unable to join us today as she is away, spending time with her “real family,” which is very fitting for someone who gives so much of herself to both her immediate and extended families alike.

This week, Trumbull Rotary proudly presented LivFree with a $4,000 donation to help further its mission of providing “moments of hope and joy to kids and families fighting pediatric cancer.”

LivFree is an organization that has truly touched the hearts of our Rotary members—and more importantly, has made a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families facing this incredibly difficult journey.

Many in our community first learn about LivFree through its beloved Movie Night events, which bring people together in an atmosphere of fun, laughter, togetherness, and support. Trumbull Rotary is a proud sponsor of this event and looks forward to continuing—and strengthening—our partnership with LivFree in the years ahead.
