Air Assault Graduate!!

Congratulations to Cadet Nigel Sharpe, an MS3 from Alabama State University, on graduating Air Assault School as apart of class 505-26.

Cadet Sharpe completed Air Assault School at the Warrior Training Center in Fort Benning, Georgia. He was there 31 May to 12 June.

Individuals are trained on orientation of different helicopters such as AH-64, UH-60, and CH-47, how air assault operations are conducted, Sling Load Operations, and rappelling. Cadet Sharpe’s favorite part was rappelling 90 feet off a UH-60 helicopter. The most valuable lesson he learned was how important it is to pay attention to every little detail, and to have confidence in his equipment and in himself.

Congratulations, we are so proud of you and your hard work!

From 25 March to 29 March 2026, cadets from the Mustang Battalion participated in the Spring JFTX (Joint Field Training Exercise) at Fort Benning, Georgia.

At this JFTX, cadets did day land navigation, night land navigation, and warrior tasks consisting of CBRN, tactical casualty combat care, hand grenades, weapons assembly and disassembly, call for fire, claymore, field craft, and ASIP radios. Cadets also conducted missions. MS1’s and MS2’s ran missions at the squad level, while MS3’s ran missions at the platoon level. Missions included patrol base operations, movement to contact, ambush, raid, and attack.

A huge congratulations to Cadet Butler, Cadet Pierce, and Cadet Brasher for being awarded coins for outstanding leadership in their platoons/squads.

This JFTX was an incredible learning opportunity and experience for cadets.

MS3/MS4 STAFF RIDE!!!

On 27 February 2026, the MS3 and MS4 level Cadets visited Fort Gaines in Dauphin Island, AL for their Staff Ride.

Cadets spilt into two groups and gave battle analysis. The first group gave analyzed The Battle of Mobile Bay (1864), and the second group analyzed The battle of Fort Bowyer (1814/1815). Battle Analysis helps Cadets see battles from a bigger picture, and allows for a logistical understanding of the battlefield.

After the groups had given their analysis, cadets were free to explore the fort. They were also given demonstrations on a cannon and musket. A few Cadets were even allowed to fire both weapons!

We would also like to thank the AMAZING staff at Fort Gaines! Also, LTC Fancey awarded our fantastic tour guide with a token of appreciation; a much deserved recognition!

Go Trojans! Go Mustangs!

6 MIKE RUCK MARCH!!!

On Wednesday February 4, Troy University Cadets conducted a 6 mile ruck march. During the event, Cadets wore a 35lbs ruck and carried a training r***e.

Ruck marches help Cadets train physical endurance as they prepare for Cadet Summer Training. All Cadets did an amazing job as they pushed through the event.

A few Cadets went above and beyond as they completed the Czech Statehood March (12.43 miles). Completion of the march awards individuals a badge in connection with the annual march held on Czech Statehood Day, commemorating the death of Saint Wenceslas.

We are so proud of everyone and their hard work and dedication!

Go Trojans! Go Mustangs!
