Rehearse the Goodbye!

Communicate the plan
Talk about the goodbye routine with your child before school starts and practice it at home. Decide on a short, consistent routine that feels positive and loving to both you and your child.

Try Saying
🐝 “Buzz, buzz, see you later, love bug!”
🚀 “Blast off hug-3…2…1-have fun!”
🐊 “See you later, alligator!”
🧸 “Big squeeze, little wave, then off you go to be brave!”

Execute the routine quickly
Don't linger, as prolonged goodbyes can make it harder for your child to transition into the school day.

Be positive and confident
Your demeanor significantly influences your child's feelings, so maintain a calm and positive attitude.
