A small favor to ask of my Facebook friends and families!

If you've worked with me professionally, attended a presentation, collaborated with me at a school, or had a child I supported through counseling services, I would be incredibly grateful if you would consider leaving a Google review for Guided Solutions.

As many of you know, small businesses rely heavily on online reviews to help others find their services. In the counseling profession, it's often difficult to gather reviews from therapy clients due to privacy, confidentiality, and ethical considerations, so support from colleagues, parents, educators, and community members means so much.

Please feel free to keep your review general and protect your privacy. You are welcome to use only your first name, initials, or post anonymously if that option is available to you.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting my journey, and helping Guided Solutions continue to grow. Every review truly makes a difference.

✨ Two-Tip Tuesday ✨

Research shows that how a conversation starts predicts how it will end.

Tip #1: Lead with a gentle start-up (wonder).
Curiosity lowers defensiveness and invites connection.

“I’m wondering if there’s something I can do to help.”
“I’m wondering what we can do about this.”

Wonder keeps the door open.

Tip #2: Turn toward, not against.
Respond to bids for connection, even small ones.

Pause. Make eye contact. Reflect back what you hear.
“I hear you.”
“That makes sense.”

When couples choose curiosity over criticism, they protect the friendship beneath the conflict.

Galentine’s Day isn’t just about friendship.
It’s about belonging.

And if you live with ADHD, rejection sensitivity can make this day feel… complicated.

A text not returned.
An invite you didn’t get.
A tone that felt off.

Suddenly your nervous system is convinced:
“I did something wrong.”
“I’m not wanted.”
“I’m too much.”

This isn’t drama.
It’s rejection sensitivity, and it’s real.

One simple tip:
When the story in your head turns harsh, pause and ask:
👉 “What’s one neutral explanation?”

Not a positive spin.
Just neutral.

“Maybe they’re busy.”
“Maybe this isn’t about me.”
“Maybe I don’t have all the information.”

That pause creates space between the feeling and the spiral.

Today, be gentle with yourself.
Your sensitivity is not a flaw.
It’s a nervous system that learned to protect you.

A Super Bowl reminder- especially for ADHD brains 🧠

Sports betting is everywhere right now.
And here’s the hard truth:

ADHD brains are wired for dopamine,
which makes gambling especially dangerous.

The rush.
The near-wins.
The “just one more” feeling.

This isn’t about willpower.
It’s about brain chemistry.

One important tip:
If you have ADHD (or love someone who does),
make a clear decision ahead of time:

👉 No gambling. Not even “for fun.”

Why this matters:
ADHD + gambling can flip from entertainment to addiction fast and the consequences last far longer than the game.

Enjoy the food.
Enjoy the people.
Enjoy the game.

Protect your brain. Protect your future.

Living with ADHD can feel like Groundhog Day.
Same intentions. Same reset. New day.

If this resonates, hear this first:
You’re not failing. Your brain just needs support.

One simple tip:
Anchor one habit to the same moment every day.

Not a whole routine. Just one thing.
Same cue. Same place. Same order.

Examples:
• Coffee → meds
• Brushing teeth → vitamins
• Sitting in the car → check your calendar

Why this works:
ADHD brains struggle with starting, not caring.
Anchors reduce decision fatigue and make consistency possible.

Grace for the reset.
Structure for the brain you have.

Today feels like a start something creative kind of day 🎨

But if you have ADHD, let me gently interrupt the urge to begin something new…

Because I know there are about
17–20 unfinished art projects
quietly waiting in a closet somewhere 😅

Here’s today’s win:
👉 Pick one project
👉 One that can be finished today

ADHD brains don’t just need creativity.
They need the dopamine hit of completion.

Art is beautiful.
Finished art is regulating.

ART… but finish it.

Lunar New Year reminder for the ADHD brain 🧠✨

If January came and went and your “new year goals” never started
—or started strong and already disappeared—

This isn’t failure.
It’s feedback.

ADHD brains don’t thrive on vague resolutions.
They thrive on support, skills, and structure.

So here’s the reframe:
✨ Add ADHD-specific therapy or skills to your goals
✨ Build systems, not pressure
✨ Stop asking yourself to try harder

Can’t commit right now?
That’s okay.

📅 Set a reminder on a day you know you can concentrate on yourself
and your future.

New year. New cycle. Same worthy you.

Friendly reminder for my ADHD friends (and honestly… all of us):

🍰 Take a bite.
🧠 Do a task.

The ADHD brain doesn’t respond to pressure —
it responds to dopamine.

Small joy → tiny motivation → finished task.
That’s not cheating. That’s neuroscience.

So yes, today’s productivity plan includes chocolate cake.
And no, you don’t need to earn it first.
