🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

I will never forget where I was when the world changed forever. I was working at Subway in Luverne, Alabama, just doing what I thought would be another ordinary day at work. Then the news began unfolding, and suddenly nothing about that day felt ordinary anymore.

September 11, 2001, was more than a date on a calendar. It was a catastrophic moment that forever changed our country and the world. Nearly 3,000 innocent lives were taken. Families lost mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands and wives. Firefighters, police officers, first responders, airline passengers, workers, and ordinary people who simply went to work that morning never made it home.

But September 11 also showed us something else. It showed us extraordinary courage. First responders ran toward danger while others were running away. Strangers helped strangers. Americans stood together. For a moment, differences were set aside, and we remembered what it meant to care for one another.

Today, we remember every single person who lost their life on September 11, 2001, and we remember the countless families whose lives were forever changed. We remember the heroes who gave everything trying to save others. We remember those who were lost in New York City, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flights 11, 175, 77 and 93.

Their lives mattered. Their stories mattered. Their families mattered. Their sacrifice mattered.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.

From our family at Happy Shack LLC, we pause today to honor those who were taken from this world far too soon and those who continue to carry their memory every day.

🇺🇸 We remember. We honor. We pray. We will never forget.
