π Today, to close out our first FPC Pride, I asked what Pride means to her. Here's what she shared:
"Pride isn't just one month of the year to me, it's my whole life! When I was younger my mom never made me feel bad for wanting to express myself , which shaped me to question all the rules being thrown at me from society. I am inspired by so many q***r lives that came before me, and fought for me to have the freedom to be myself without fear! I want to experience life to the fullest as a way to show my appreciation for the humans who fought for our rights till their very last breath."

These photos are cute, colorful, and fun but we don't want to reduce Pride to just rainbows and celebrations.
At Fetching Pet Company, over 60% of our team identifies as LGBTQ+, and many have personally experienced discrimination, rejection, or the fear of not being accepted for who they are.
These experiences aren't just part of history.
Over the past year, we've had to delete hateful comments from our social media. Just last week, we ended a client relationship after comments were made about one of our LGBTQ+ team members that we felt were rooted in bias rather than the quality of their work or care.
These moments are a reminder of why Pride still matters.
One of FPC's Core Values is "Protect the Team." That means standing behind our people, creating a safe and inclusive workplace, and refusing to tolerate discrimination directed at those who make this company what it is.
Pride is about creating a world where people can show up to work, care for their communities, and exist as themselves without being judged, insulted, or treated differently because of who they are.
So while we'll continue sharing the fun, colorful, peachy side of Pride this week, we also wanted to talk about the realities of what make this week necessary in the first place.
We're proud of our team, grateful for the clients and supporters who stand with us, and committed to building a community where everyone, human and pet alike, is loved & welcome. β€οΈπ§‘ππππ

We're feeling a little peachy as we kick off Pride Month with our first ever Pride Week photos featuring , who many of our pups know and love as our daycare coach, Hudson!

Cheaper pricing almost always means something is being sacrificed: time, patience, quality, safety, education, products, equipment, or the people doing the work.Β We refuse to cut corners when it comes to dogs or our team's well-being.
We don't overbook dogs. Some salons schedule 10+ dogs per groomer every day or have multiple dogs come in at once and get passed from bather to groomer, leaving dogs in the salon all day long.
We keep it to 4β6 dogs per groomer per day and focus on one dog at a time so every dog gets the patience, care, and attention they deserve.

We also invest heavily into continued education because your dog deserves groomers who continuously learn and improve.Β We currently spend over $1,000/month on seminars, certifications, continuing education, and hands-on training.
In fact, we currently have a groomer becoming one of the areaβs only Certified Canine Estheticians.Β This is something weβve been working toward for years and are SO excited about. We have a daycare coach currently becoming our second Certified Enrichment Tech this month too. More on these coming soon π
High-quality professional products and equipment are also expensive. Don't even get us started on shampoo costs or equipment maintenance.
No, we arenβt the cheapest but we donβt want to be.
We respect your dog.
We respect our standards.
And we respect our groomers too much to cut corners for convenience or cheaper pricing.
