Coconino enjoyed a visit to Vandalia Art Park! They had a great time exploring the artwork, taking in the creativity on display, and enjoying the fresh air and beautiful weather 🌿✨ It was a wonderful day filled with art, nature, and community fun!

The Tongass group made their first trip to Buc-ee’s, and it was a huge hit! 🎉 Everyone had so much fun exploring the store and checking out everything it has to offer. From snacks and souvenirs to all the unique items throughout the store, there was something interesting around every corner 😊 In fact, they said they could have spent all day there looking around and shopping! It was a fun adventure, and one thing is for sure, they definitely want to go back! 💙

Coconino took advantage of the beautiful weather by enjoying a cookout and a nice walk together! 🌿😊 With sunshine, fresh air, and great company, it was the perfect day to get outside and enjoy everything the season has to offer. The weather has been perfect for outdoor activities, and everyone had a wonderful time soaking it all in! 💙

Compton enjoyed a trip to Charleston Falls last week, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a hike! ☀️ The group enjoyed taking in the beautiful scenery, exploring the trails, and watching the waterfall along the way 🌳✨ It was a great day to get outside, enjoy nature, and make memories together!

Chugach has been busy learning and creating! Recently, they have worked on making Styrofoam bowl turtles 🐢, learning basic first aid, practicing problem-solving skills, and discussing swim safety 🏊 They also explored the importance of empathy by learning about the five ways to show empathy and the seven keys of empathy 💙 They also enjoyed music therapy 🎶 and got creative with yarn decorating, making adorable little yarn monsters 👾✨

A wonderful combination of life skills, creativity, and fun!

RT Industries was proud to host an Industry Tour for Educators, bringing together school professionals to learn more about employment opportunities and services available to individuals with developmental disabilities.

During the tour, we shared the history of RT Industries and highlighted the wide range of services we provide, including Adult Day Supports and Employment Services. A major focus of the discussion was the support available to school-aged students through services we provide with the funding of Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD), which included Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), Summer Youth Work Experiences, real-world job training opportunities, and other programs designed to prepare students for future success.

The educators were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and taking detailed notes as we discussed not only transition-age services, but also what supports and opportunities are available after graduation. Our goal is to continue building strong partnerships with schools throughout Miami County while helping students with developmental disabilities develop the skills and confidence needed for successful futures.

Following the presentation, educators visited two of our valued community partners to see our services in action. We would like to extend a special thank you to Stull Woodworks for welcoming our group, sharing their experiences, and discussing their partnership with RT Industries. The tour also included a visit to the I-75 Rest Area, another example of how community partnerships create meaningful employment and training opportunities.

Palm Bay had a day packed with creativity, games, and fun! They created colorful tie-dye socks 🌈🧦, tested their luck with a spin-the-wheel game 🎡, and stayed active with a game of tennis 🎾 From crafting to friendly competition, there were plenty of smiles and laughter throughout the day!

Compton had a great time watching the pilots practice for the upcoming Dayton Air Show today! For Trent, this was an especially exciting outing because he’s a huge fan of airplanes and the air show, so getting to see the aircraft in action made the day extra special 😊✈️ With beautiful weather and amazing views overhead, it was the perfect day to get outside and enjoy the experience!

RT Industries Receives Partnership in Action Award

Congratulations to our Employment Services Department for building and maintaining a meaningful partnership with Have A Gay Day Dayton, while creating valuable opportunities for the individuals we support.

On Friday, June 5th, our team was honored to receive the Partnership in Action Award from Have A Gay Day. The award was presented by Executive Director Michael and Operations Manager Dominic ("Turtle") in recognition of our ongoing collaboration and commitment to serving the community.

Each month, Employment Discovery Specialists and the individuals we support volunteer at Have A Gay Day's food pantry, assisting with bagging dry goods and preparing items for distribution to individuals and families in need. Through these volunteer experiences, the adults we support gain valuable employment and life skills, including teamwork, communication, responsibility, and community engagement.

This partnership exemplifies the mission of RT by providing meaningful, hands-on opportunities that help individuals develop workplace skills while making a positive impact in our community. The dedication of our staff has helped create an environment where learning, service, and inclusion come together to benefit everyone involved.

🦺 A Voc Hab group traveled to Menards today for a hands-on lesson in workplace safety clothing and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
From high-visibility hats, gloves, and coats to safety glasses, respirators, and hard hats, the group identified and discussed the unique purpose of each item. They did an amazing job learning how the right gear keeps workers safe on the job! 👷‍♂️🔧
