🍺 KONKAN MIST — NOW ON TAP 🌧️
Couldn’t have picked a better day to tap this beer.
As the rain falls outside, it feels a lot like the monsoon weather of India’s Konkan coast—the inspiration behind this brew.
A soft wheat ale infused with kokam, the iconic fruit of India’s western coast, bringing a refreshing tartness and a beautiful ruby-pink hue to the glass at 5.1% ABV.
🌧️ Rain outside.
🍺 Konkan Mist in hand.
🌴 A little taste of the Konkan coast in Michigan.
Everything that makes summer taste like summer. 🍋
Another summer beer is in the fermenter! Built on a 50% Wheat Malt… Now it’s time for yeast to do its thing. 🍺
🍷 Creating Konkan Mist meant finding the right ingredient.
I first considered readymade kokam agal, but its added salt made it better for kokum sharbat than the beer I envisioned.
So I returned to the source and crafted my own extract from wet kokum (amsul).
Steeped. Strained. Chilled.
With the extract ready, is one step closer to the glass. Next comes calibration, then kegging — and I can’t wait to see what the next stage reveals. 🍺✨
🍺 NEW ON TAP: Bohemian Dark Velvet
My first take on a Czech Dark Lager.
Deep ruby-black, light caramel, and a smooth lager finish.
Built on floor-malted Bohemian Pilsner malt and fermented with Imperial Urkel yeast to 5.5% ABV.
Most importantly… Wife approved. ✅
And that’s harder to earn than any medal 😁
The moment when a beer starts looking like the vision in your head. 🍻
And suddenly, a sight glass becomes brewery art. 😊
Super excited to see both of my entries held their own at the prestigious Siciliano’s Homebrew Competition 🍻
🥇 Nutty by Nature — 1st Place (43.5)
🏅 First Light Blonde — 4th Place (36.5)
Really happy to see both beers perform well on the judging table. Huge thanks to the organizing committee and for a smooth competition and to the judges for the thoughtful feedback!
Bohemian floor-malted Pilsner at the core, layered with Munich and Caramunich, with Carafa worked through mash and steep, brought to life with Saaz hops
A bit of sunshine sealed into some cans 🍺😊
Got labels printed by and can labels being applied using
The first pour of the First Blonde Ale… 4.7% ABV, crisp and refreshing 🍻
