Faith Extended: Thessalonica - A Public Allegiance
Acts 17:1-9

It can be easy for Christians to feel comfortable simply believing privately in their hearts that Jesus is their Lord and Savior. But being a disciple of Jesus was never meant to be just an inward belief. We are called to demonstrate a public allegiance to God, even when it causes problems.

When Paul and his companions preached in Thessalonica that Jesus was the Messiah, they were accused of causing trouble. Their outward commitment to follow Christ was turning the world upside down wherever they went, yet they continued to spread the gospel. So where does your allegiance lie? And are you ready for what comes when you live it out?

On June 23, we’re celebrating a patriotic, picnic theme. We are pleased to welcome Sue Busler to speak to our group. Dale Storey will be preparing hamburgers and hot dogs. We’ll also have all the condiments and fixins’, including baked beans, salad, and chips.

Faith Extended: Philippi - Joy in Suffering
Acts 16: 11-40

The way we respond to personal suffering is oftentimes the most public witness we will ever make. How do you respond to bad news? How do you respond to aging or poor health? How do you respond to great injustices done to you? The people around you are watching how you handle suffering.

Join us this Sunday as we accompany the Apostle Paul to Philippi where we will observe his response of great joy when imprisoned and how remaining joyful in our own suffering can point others to Christ.
