I have two dozen silkie hatching eggs available $35 a dozen

Saw this post on a friends page and decided to share and read yalls thoughts about this lol

Selling eggs is a wild business.

One person says the eggs are too dirty.
Another says they’re too clean and must be “store eggs.”

Someone says they’re too expensive.
Someone else says if they were really farm eggs they’d cost more.

In the fall someone always asks why the yolks aren’t as bright yellow as they were in summer… like the pasture didn’t just go dormant and the chickens suddenly stopped finding fresh greens and bugs.

Then there’s the classic:

“Chickens are easy money!”

Meanwhile:
Feed is expensive.
Bedding is expensive.
Coops aren’t free.
Predators exist.
Winter egg production drops.
And chickens dont follow the plan.

Some days I genuinely consider just keeping enough chickens for us and the animals and calling it good.

Because let me tell you…

Chickens don’t complain.

People do. 😅
