Lead exposure can permanently damage a child’s brain development, learning and behavior. An estimated dozen New Jersey children are lead-poisoned every day, and deteriorating paint remains one of the biggest sources of exposure.
That is why New Jersey must protect the programs that test homes, remove lead hazards and help families live safely.
Budget Resolution 276 would help sustain that work by directing existing revenue from the Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund to its intended purpose. The fund, supported by paint sales tax revenue and inspection fees, generates an estimated $19 million or more each year.
No new tax is needed. The money is already there. Lawmakers simply need to allocate it for lead testing, remediation and healthier homes.
Tell your local legislators to support Budget Resolution 276.

Today, Isles joins communities across the country in celebrating Juneteenth and honoring the day freedom reached the last enslaved people in the United States.
Juneteenth is both a celebration and a reminder that the work of building a more just and equitable future continues. At Isles, that work means expanding access to safe and healthy homes, education, economic opportunity and stronger neighborhoods.
We honor the past by continuing to invest in people, opportunity and community.

Every child deserves a lead-safe home.
Lead dust from deteriorating paint accounts for up to 90% of elevated blood lead levels in children. Exposure can damage developing brains and have lifelong effects on learning, behavior and earning potential.
New Jersey already has a strong network of lead-safe agencies doing this work, but federal ARPA funding expires at the end of 2026. Without action, funding for local programs, jobs and lead remediation services could be sharply reduced.
The good news is that the funding mechanism already exists. The Lead Hazard Control Assistance Fund, supported by paint sales tax revenue and inspection fees, generates enough revenue to fully fund this work.
No new tax is needed. Lawmakers simply need to allocate those existing dollars for their intended purpose.
Contact your local legislators and urge them to support Budget Resolution 276.

A once-vacant lot in Trenton's North Ward is now a city park, and it's part of a much bigger effort taking root across the city. 🌳
Through the Trees for Trenton partnership, Isles has planted 390 trees and helps water and care for more than 600 across Trenton's neighborhoods. Led by the New Jersey Conservation Foundation alongside the City of Trenton NJ - City Hall , the New Jersey Tree Foundation, the The Watershed Institute , and the Outdoor Equity Alliance, and backed by a grant from the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, the program is bringing 1,000 shade trees to Trenton. More than 900 are already in the ground.
The payoff: more shade, cleaner air, cooler streets, and healthier neighborhoods for the people who live here.

Proud to be part of this one. 🧡
On 609 Day, Trenton City Councilwoman brought together students and law enforcement for the 5th annual Youth and Law Enforcement Unity Event, and Isles was honored to stand alongside her.
The premise is simple but powerful: students spent the day in team-building and conversation with officers from the , the , the , and the NJ Division of Criminal Justice, without knowing who the officers were. Only later did the officers reveal their uniforms, after connections had already formed around personality and shared experience rather than assumptions. Attorney General Jennifer Davenport joined in, too.
Days like this are how trust gets built, one real conversation at a time. Thank you to Councilwoman Gonzalez for the invitation, and to our own Stacy Heading, Director of Community Engagement, for representing Isles in this important work.
