The MLS Rhoer Club honors the legacy of Bessie Coleman, a trailblazer who soared beyond limits and made history in the skies.

Refusing to let barriers define her path, she became the first African American woman to earn an international pilot’s license; opening doors for generations to come.

Her courage and determination continue to inspire young women to aim higher, push past obstacles, and believe in what’s possible.

✨ Women’s History Month Spotlight ✨

Today the MLS Rhoer Club celebrates the incredible legacy of Ethel Waters, a groundbreaking performer who helped pave the way for future generations of artists.

She was the first woman to sing “St. Louis Blues” in public.

She became the first African American woman to integrate Broadway, appearing in As Thousands Cheer.

She was also the first African American to star in a television variety special.

🎶 Her songs “Am I Blue,” “Stormy Weather,” and “Dinah” are all honored in the Grammy Hall of Fame.

Born into poverty in 1896 and once working as a chambermaid, Ethel Waters rose to become a true musical and cultural pioneer. Her life reminds us that determination and talent can break barriers.

One of her famous quotes reminds us:
“God doesn’t make junk.”

Let this be a reminder to believe in your worth and your purpose.

The MLS Rhoer Club had an awesome time last Saturday at Capital Health’s Community Baby Shower, hosted at the Trenton War Memorial! 💙💛 It was great to be part of this event alongside the Mu Lambda Sigma Chapter and MLS Rhosebud Club. We had fun playing shower games and helped hand out over 40 gift bags and baskets filled with essentials like diapers and wipes. Our club helped share important information with the community about voter registration, checking voter status, and early voting locations in Mercer County.
