It’s moving day!
After 26 years at our West Front Street location, we are excited for new adventures but a bit sad to say goodbye. A few of our staff have been here since moving into this building - a truly bittersweet moment.

Got questions? We've got the experts. Whether it's farming, family or food—you don’t need to be an expert to get expert advice.

Ask An Expert—MSU Extension is here to help. Follow us for weekly questions and answers from REAL people—no AI needed.

Q: “I have loamy dirt and need to know what grass seed or blend is best, in full sun (without annual rye or tall fescue).”

A: Kentucky bluegrass, perennial ryegrass, tall fescue and fine fescue are cool-season turf grasses commonly used in Michigan. Without irrigation, cool-season turf grasses may become dormant during periods of hot or dry weather in the summer.
