Meet Karin - Our Benzie Manistee Local Director.

As a young adventurous girl, Karin loved spending time with her family – camping, exploring the woods, swimming, biking, and climbing trees. So many wonderful memories and strong connections were created when they were together on their adventures. She loved children and deeply valued the importance of family and meaningful relationships.

Although her kids may be grown now, Karin’s adventurous spirit and her heart for families shines through her work today as Local Director as she walks alongside single moms – offering them support, hope, and connection.

We know just how busy schedules can be during summer but we are still making time to connect, have fun, and build community here at Single MOMM.

Single moms and their families in the Holland/Zeeland area started their summer out with a big splash thanks to the Holland Aquatic Center. Families were able enjoy the splash pads, zipline, water slides and obstacle course.

In our Wexford Missaukee office, families flocked together on a cozy rainy day to create teacup bird feeders, bird food bags and binoculars for summer bird watching! They even sampled their own tasty “bird-approved” snacks of their own!

What a joy it was for families to come together, build connections, and create new memories. Reach out to one of our local offices to learn more about our next summer gathering!

We are so grateful for the women of Impact 100 TC for funding our rural expansion program with a fully renovated Airstream. Today it serves as our Benzie Manistee mobile office which held our first 2026 summer gathering. Single moms and their children were able to come together and connect over a cozy bonfire with yummy food and fun yard games. Families enjoyed ice cream sundaes while talking about their upcoming summer plans – full of beach days, camping, and making memories.

Meet Karie – Our Mission Director

At one point in her life, Karie was a single mom. She lived in a tight-knit neighborhood that showed up for her and her children in meaningful ways. When her kids were in elementary school, the neighborhood would all walk together on the first day of school. That sense of community and knowing she wasn’t walking alone brought a deep comfort during a challenging season of life.

From her own journey through single motherhood, Karie understands the impact it has on women to feel seen, valued and supported. As her neighborhood once walked alongside her, Karie now walks alongside single moms on their journey. Today, she is honored to serve as Mission Director - helping women to connect, grow, and encourage one another in a supportive community.

When a single mom hears that there aren’t any openings for a summer program for her child, it seems like an impossible mountain to climb. She heard it again and again and again – no openings, no availability, no options.

Eventually, she reached out to Single MOMM and with the support of one of our mentors, they created a plan to help care for her son. Her community came together – consisting of other single moms, a local church program, and a friend’s sister to love and care for her son so she could continue working. Asking for help is hard. Trusting others with your child is hard. This mom showed incredible courage by taking the next step when the path ahead seemed impossible. In doing so, she began building what every single mom needs – a safe, supportive community that reminds her that she doesn’t have to carry everything alone.

Meet Amanda - Our Grand Traverse Local Director.

As a child, Amanda loved dressing up in costumes and stepping into new characters. You may remember Amanda dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow at an event night in 2016 or dressed as a ringleader at a carnival event night this past year. Costumes may still make an appearance from time to time, but bringing joy and making others feel seen is something that has always existed within her.

After 12 years serving in creative roles at our headquarters office, Amanda now has the opportunity to encourage, celebrate, and walk alongside women in our Grand Traverse office. Whether it's your birthday, your child's first day of school, a new job, a hard-earned accomplishment, or simply getting out of bed on a difficult day, Amanda believes every victory is worth celebrating.

Meet Eden, our Donor Engagement Representative at Headquarters.

The goggles may be different now, but the kid underneath them isn't all that different.

Eden has always been someone who looks for the fun in a situation. Over the years, life has brought challenges, growth, and plenty of unexpected turns, but her playfulness that God created within her has always remained steady.

At Single MOMM, Eden enjoys building relationships with people -hearing their stories and finding ways to celebrate what matters most to them. She witnesses generosity firsthand with every gift representing a person choosing to invest in hope, healing, and opportunity for single mothers and their children. She doesn’t know how it could be anymore fun than that!

"I got in!"

These three simple words carried years of hard work, determination, and sacrifice.

After six years of earning her GED and taking college classes while balancing the demands of single motherhood, one of our moms was accepted into a bachelor's degree program. Single MOMM was her first call to share the big news.

What a gift it is to do life together - to walk alongside one another during every season whether we're celebrating victories, offering encouragement or persevering down a difficult path.

Long before Single MOMM existed, Jennifer was already living out the heart of its mission.

As a little girl, she could often be found racing through the living room dressed as Wonder Woman—drawn to courage, justice, and helping those who needed someone in their corner. What looked like childhood imagination was actually a glimpse of the calling God was weaving into her story.

Years later, that same passion became Single MOMM.

Today, Jennifer leads our team with a fierce belief that when a single mom has a safe place to be seen, heard, and encouraged, everything can change.

And often, it starts with something simple:
A cup of coffee. A piece of chocolate. A conversation.

To the momma who is scared she isn't going to make it - we SEE you and we are here for you.

I always meant to stop in and find out what they offered, but I was skeptical and a bit scared to stop. Then one day on my way home from dropping my daughter off, I drove past their new office sign and something propelled me to stop. One hour later, my world wasn't transformed, but I felt seen and understood! What a gift to be able to sit with coffee, chocolate, and women who get what it is like to be a single mom.
