Instead of installing a diagonal corner cabinet, we left this corner open and ran custom L-shaped shelves to match the dark-stained cabinetry. It breaks up the heavy woodwork and gives the homeowner a clean, accessible spot for daily items or decor.

Do you prefer open shelving accents in a kitchen, or do you want everything hidden behind doors?

Instead of crowding the window with heavy upper cabinets, we left that wall open to showcase the blue tile and the natural light. We anchored the peninsula with white shiplap paneling underneath to add texture to the drywall.

Would you choose a bold tile color for your kitchen or keep it classic white?

Tucking the microwave oven right into the island keeps the main countertops completely clear of appliances. We paired this built-in KitchenAid unit with white shaker cabinets and clean hardware to keep it accessible but out of the main line of sight.
