Every day at the same time, Keona is ready for her beauty sleep! 😴💖 Today, she couldn’t even make it through her spaghetti before dozing off right at the lunch table! 🍝 She was so peaceful, with a little pasta still on her plate. It’s like clockwork, when it’s time for her nap, nothing can stop her. Sweet dreams, Keona! 🌟💫

Today was another wonderful day of learning and fun at Tiny Steps Learning Center! We revisited the classic story The Very Hungry Caterpillar, which I discussed which foods are good for our bodies and which ones we should enjoy in moderation. To help reinforce this, we looked at the "My Plate" chart.

The children engaged in a hands-on activity that reinforced color recognition and sorting. I created a caterpillar-themed color sorting activity by filling Ziploc bags with gel, water and pom-poms. The kids enjoyed moving the Pom-Poms around while also developing their fine motor skills.

Today, the children had a wonderful time exploring the neighborhood during our walk. They observed the changing season, and got to see the different Christmas decorations on the houses. The walk provided a great opportunity for the kids to engage in sensory experiences, and learn about their environment. It was a fun and educational adventure, allowing them to connect with nature and develop curiosity about the world around them.

Today we read the book It Looked Like Spilled Milk, a fun and imaginative book that encouraged creativity and critical thinking.

To make the story even more interactive, we used a felt board during the reading. The children were able to visually connect with the characters and scenes, which helped them actively participate by identifying and placing the felt pieces. This hands-on activity supported their development of fine motor skills, language, and storytelling abilities.

We also got creative, after the story, we used blue paper and white paint to make our own “spilled milk.” The children used their hands exploring texture and experimenting with painting, while reinforcing the story’s theme.

Today, the children participated in an exciting problem-solving activity where they had to "rescue" an animal by pulling tape off the table. This hands-on project encouraged teamwork, fine motor skills, and critical thinking.
